Throttle Bodies by Doki
MeatballTurbo wrote in message ... Thats to look pretty. A lot of cars using TBs use the same kind of filter as you would use for a sidedraft carb setup. As had been said before, either a mesh screen, or sock filters on each TB, or a combined single foam filter on a baseplate/airbox containing a ...

Land rovers by Carl Gibbs
Just had a go at off roading in a mates Defender 90 TDi. Oh my god - what great fun! The things it can do is simply unbelievable. We found a big mud pool whilst we were white roading and thought we'd have some fun. the pool was about 3m below ground level with roughly 45 degree slopes all the way around. The mud at the bottom was about 0.5m deep. The 90 just powered through the mud and up...

wide gearbox ratios by Smokeyone
I am hoping someone can advise me if such a special gearbox exists that can be mated to a rover v8. Must have a very low first gear 4 to 1 or more with a very high top gear, around .5 to 1. Failing this I am thinking about having special gears cut for the r380 box. I have had a rough quote and its not to much of a shock but have not gone into the details yet, such as spacing in the box etc...

Tomorrow in Ellesmere Port by AstraVanMan
Thought I'd start a new thread (though I know people have mentioned what cars they'll be in), so people can post about how they'll identify themselves (or how other people will, I suppose). Just one thing, is going with a mate in his car against the whole ethos of the day, or should I bring the Carlton along as well? Anyway, I'll start - I'll be the messy haired looking fella as a passenger in...

Insurance Advice by Alison Hannah
Hello Can anyone recommend any insurance companies (from experience) that will cover cars with stainless steel exhaust mods and alloys. I'm having a right job with the 'larger' companies and my renewal's due next month. Obviously, 'Budget' insurance is out of the question judging by the above thread!

Astra Coupe/GSi Turbo by DAVID LUMB
Hi, Anyone on here done any power upgrades on these? I was looking at Courtenays stuff, particularly the phase 2 upgrade to 238bhp. Anybody had any experience of this? What do you think of Courtenay (seem quite expensive!) Cheers, Dave

More insurance by Doki
Insurance renewal is coming up, anyone know any good insurers for youngish drivers (1 years NCB)? The Ka is currently standard but I'd like to be able to add better brakes without the insurance company killing me.

FS: Lancia Dedra Turbo by Fishman
No, not the "Black Beauty" I'm doing up a dedra (almost as I type, please excuse the oily prints on the keyboard) It's red with grey suede interior. Bloody quick. I'm sure it's quicker than my other one, despite being the later model with a catalyst. The engine sounds a LOT better too.

OT for those that hate bikes. by Burgerman
For your amusement, I dont know this guy but from my experience it looks honest enough, and about 250 to 300 bhp. A real roadbike, Turbo Suzuki 1300 22mb and on my upload 128k this means 15kb/s max, if you are the only one! But its worth looking at.

Did you ever see? by Doki
That "acoustic weapon" that the Americans were prototyping? Produces low frequency vibrations that cause you to start feeling really ill then vomiting and ****ting yourself. I'd like one to be fitted to come on with my car horn. And a lot of soundproofing to stop me ****ting myself :P.
