Deal is done by Carl Gibbs
Well 2 deals are done actually. The SD1 was sold today, which is nice. So that's all all the expenditure on the Vitesse covered so far, with a few hundred quid left. And, against most of you lots advice we've bought a Citroen C1. So screw you :) Having looked at all 3 versions from Pug, Citroen and Toyota the Citroen worked out the cheapest overall. So we wangled everything we could out...

Supply and demand, more demand for diesel than petrol, it's similar to heating oil. According to the posh people on Radio 4 anyway :)

Peugeot 206 1.4LX Mini Review by JackH
****e. Much worse to drive than this 306 HDI, even though the 206 has 51k from new, and the 306 has covered 134k from new. That is all. -- JackH

BOGOF Cars by SteveH
http://www.broadspeed.com/kiaspecial.htm Yes, they're a bit crap. But at either half price(+5%) or BOGOF, they're not a bad deal at all. I may have even considered one as a company hack at one point. -- SteveH 'You're not a real petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa Romeo'

So that's where the boost went... by Adrian
On Saturday evening, the 900's boost went on holiday. The ghost got a bit louder, and the boost gauge only just went above atmospheric pressure. Quick look on Sunday in the rain showed that the boost pipework was all firmly in place, nothing obvious, and the various vac hoses seemed not to be open to the atmosphere, so I dropped by the workshop this morning, thinking it was probably the...

Oi Francophiles, what is a 2004 Megane 1.5DCI like? by Elder
One locally. Normally I avoid froggie motors on principle after the bother my dad many years ago with an R20, and reviews of french cars showing the quick release interior trim. The local one is a Dynamique. -- Carl Robson Get cashback on your purchases Topcashback http://www.TopCashBack.co.uk/skraggy_uk/ref/index.htm Greasypalm http://www.greasypalm.co.uk/r/?l=1006553

'It'll polish out with a bit of T-Cut' by JackH
....but on reflection, it probably won't. The Passat, having violated a Fiat Panda (1) by taking it roughly from behind, is looking likely to be classed as a write off (2) according to the nice lady at the approved repairers where it currently sits awaiting an inspection by the insurance assessor. Arse. Still... no-one was hurt, that's the main thing.

Weekend fun by Carl Gibbs
I spent a few hours on working on the SD1 yesterday (in the sunshine). Now has new rear dampers, new (2nd hand) aluminium induction pipes, the temp gauge works and it's clean and tidy. So it's all ready for a guy to come and look at it today. And the bugger hasnt turned up. That's 2 no-shows in 2 weekends. Nobbers. On the plus side I ventured into London village last night and picked up...

It's a bit nippy out there by SteveH
to be spannering on cars. Fortunately, I have the wiper motor swap down to a fine art. 45 minutes from start to finish. Not my best time, but I managed to get them wiping the wrong way initially. New motor is stickered up 'Nippon Denso' - I hope it's better than the Bosch it replaces. Finally found one with the waterproof rubber cover, too - I reckon that

nearly 1 week with the mini by Vamp
well tomorrow lunch time will be 1 week with the mini. so far i've loved it, been going through the manual and finding out all the little bits it can do, even the pointless but cool half wind down of the windows if you hold the unlock button on the key, why i don't know but looks cool and would be useful in summer to ditch some hot air before getting in. another cool feature is if you flash...
