Back Home by SteveH[_3_]
Just to let you know I was released around lunch time today and have been home since early afternoon. This feels really odd - it's going to take some time to adjust to being back here, as the last time I saw the place I was at death's door. I'd like to thank everyone for their messages of support / **** taking both here and on FB - it kept my spirits up through the most difficult week of my...

Not quite dead: Steve H by Adrian
"platypus" gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying: He had a heart attack last night. He's now in hospital in Cardiff. It hasn't stopped him using his iphone, though. Silly sod.

Tidy looking MkII XR2 for a grand locally. http://search.ebay.co.uk/150552816775 Always wanted one - and I think even K would appreciate it, as her first car was a Fester Fesitval in Diamond White. -- SteveH

MOT frustration by SteveH[_3_]
I get the Prius serviced by a company who cares for autos across the nation, that may well be on the verge of being re-branded by a popular car accessories shop.... So they sent me a mailshot offering a cheap MOT for any privately owned car I had. Seemed nice and easy - I know the Cinq. inside out now, and know it's pretty sorted. But they failed it - headlamp aim (OK, not something that's easy...

More modding :O by SteveH[_3_]
Off topic, I know. Just picked up the Cinq. - aside from a couple of jobs which needed doing (engine mount and front drop links), I've had some 'Eibach Magic Camber Bolts' fitted. These have dialled in 1.75 degrees of negative camber, to help cut outside edge tyre wear on the track. Also had a full alignment check etc. done.

This place is deader than Elvis. In other news I stuck a reversing camera in the B4 last week. Great bit of kit but I need to reangle it because it mainly just shows my licence plate at the moment. Pretty keen on putting one on the Jackaroo(Trooper) now. -- Fraser

Another (small) mod by SteveH[_3_]
The Cinq. still has massive wear problems on the nearside tyres when running on clockwise tracks - which I believe is convention at least in the UK. Speaking with someone on a recent track day, I was advised I need to 'dial in some -ve camber' on the fronts - which is being done this week through the magic of Eibach camber bolts. (They're a cam-shaped bolt which replaces one of the lower...

Car dealers must think their punters are stupid... by Elder
Well, I've had the IS over 2 years now, and I love it. But every now and again I get a call from the dealer I bought it from seeing if I'm ready to upgrade. As always, loving it and being skintish, I say no. This time, the call was "High we are having an open day and as a VIP customer we wondered if you fancied coming down, meet Reg Rix, and see what we can do for you, with £500 cash,...

A Mod! by Steve Firth
According to my insurers that is. I've bought a digger which can be towed behind a car. So I needed to fit a towing ball and electrics. This according to my insurers is "modifying the car" so I had to declare it to them, they're getting back to me with news about if it will cost me and if so how much. I was going to go for the basic towing flange, but apparently that won't work because I have...
