[OT] Hand Controls and Stuff... by DanB
I guess, Ping Burgerman, Alistair J Murray (he was always a nice dude, does anyone keep in touch with him? Remember, he had an Alpina B10 that was really cool?) and anyone else really that knows anything. I mentioned this elsewhere, but for those that didn't read - I was in a lot of pain Saturday night, had to had a doc visit and stuff, but just a painkiller shot, nothing out of the...

I made him do it..... by Bob Sherunckle
My elder brother was looking for a new car. An automatic. He showed me a car he fancied and I gave him far too much encouragement. So now he's bought it. He doesn't do a great deal of miles a week, which is a good thing seeing it's a................

PING: Elder and the other northwesterners! by Abo
I'm working with a colleague in Widnes this week, and he's been having problems with his car. The synchro is bust, and it sounds like it needs a new CV joint too. He only moved down there from Blackpool a couple of weeks ago. His trusted garage is of course in Blackpool... Can anyone here recommend a mechanic in the area who won't take the **** as far a labour costs are concerned? A bit of...

OT: Anyone "bought" from Phones4U? by Elder
I say bought because according to them this won't cost me anything. Orange shop are being a bunch of monkey humpers over the Omnia that I want. They want 350 to upgrade on my existing Tarriff. I don't know how they plan to use that Phone to compete with the iPhone 3g when for 5 a month more I can switch to an iPhone 3g. They have a 3 month exlusive deal on the 16gig but the 8gig is available...

SD1 on show by Carl Gibbs
Went to the Hampshire Pagaent of Motoring today and had the SD1 displayed with a couple of others from the SD1 Club. Mostly good comments and lots of people reminiscing of days gone by with their /their Dads SD1, which was nice. Good variety of cars there as usual, and a thoroughly good day out. My piccies can be found...

....'running in' the set of Green Stuff front pads I had fitted to the Passat on Friday. Having got past the initial 200 miles the blurb that comes with them says you need to avoid emergency braking, they definitely have a lot more bite than the standard ****e they replaced. Not had cause to try and keep up with 106 GTis on back roads as of yet (1), but that'll be the real test, as I've been...

Paging jackhackettuk by Timo Geusch
That mate of yours with the 200SX with a Skyline engine in it - that car isn't by any chance black/dark grey with a white front end and a white rear bumper, is it? Just wondering because one of the drift cars running at the track day at Lydden Hill today answered to that description. -- '89 Mazda RX-7 Convertible Mazda MX-5 trackday shed '94 Mitsubishi Evo II Audi A8

long shot, 60's US advert by jamesd1974
someone told me a long time ago about a TV advert in the states for IIRC the Pontiac GTO which consisted of a huge cloud of tire smoke and a roaring V8 which cleared to show just two big black lines disappearing along the road, then a voice over of something along the line of "that was the Pontiac GTO, buy one and you'll get laid more". does this ring any bells with anyone?, I've googled and...
