to see if anyone knew it).

New car suggestions - don't laugh by
David Lane
It looks like my Rover's finally going to be failed big time at it's MOT on
Monday. Faults include: leaking power steering, cat gone, leaking and
corroded radiator plus others.
Therefore ... what do people think of the following. I'm looking for a car
with: grace, pace, space. Doesn't need to be an estate (the Zafira got rid
of that need) and has to have some style. Must have 4/5 doors....

OT: Online opticians by
Doki
Anyone used one of those online opticians? I've just found my "Good" glasses
that cost me the wrong side of a hundred quid and it turns out that I've
confused them with my "****e" glasses that have a chip out of the lense and
the wrong prescription. And left them kicking around. And now they're both
"****e" glasses. Anyone used any of them and and have any idea how cack
handed they are...

ebay bargain ?!? by
Tony Bond
Didn't think they existed anymore, anyway, I got a set of 4x 15" Puma alloys
(the 9 spoke version) with the correct sized part-worn Yokohamas on for
£82 :)
Colour me chuffed :)
They're an odd size, but the wheels came off an MK Indy :)

The Rover has an MOT !!! by
David Lane
Somehow my Rover passed its' MOT with no advisories :-O . I know I gave it a
thorough clean, got rid of all evidence of leaks and treated the fuel, but
the garage is suprised. I'm more so.
This at least gives me a bit more time to find some new transport.
Me happy!

[OT] JCB going back? by
Depresion
I was at the MIRA seminar on the exclusive use of CFD in the design of the
DieselMax and during the discussions they were talking of going back and
trying to improve on there 350mph record (having averaged 370 on the first
run without using 6th gear). They are looking for a fuel sponsor and a tyre
sponsor willing to make tyres capable of the speeds (the ones they used were
rated at just over...

Review: VW Sharan S Tdi 115 by
Rob
VW Sharan picked up with a whole 6 miles on the clock\
Drives quite **** poor rolls like a bloody boat, torquey engine feels lively
enough, and the 6 speeder box is well spaced for about town driving and
m-way
In terms of reliability i dunno its only done 200 miles already, Fuel
consumption is horendously poor so far.
My biggest gripe is the build quality its a 56 plate and i expected...

Latest in my long line of "what impractical car" advice. by
Elder
BMW E38 7 series?
What are they like and was there a Diesel?
Do they rust do they last, does BMW still support parts for them and is
there a healthy decent quality pattern part market.
They look tidy enough and age rather than condition seems to be taking
them into the bangernomics category. And I'm guessing they are the
perfect if thirsty motorway lumper.
