One for the shiny car brigade by
PCPaul
My other half (she says better) has an old Mazda 323F that she loves.
It's a '91 car with 150K on it but being a Mazda it refuses to die.
Unfortunately the paint is that nice red colour that oxidises on some
panels and not others leaving a dull almost floury look.
For her birthday I was thinking of getting it tarted up a bit (a bit =
£100 or so max). Would a valeter do that sort of thing?...

Anything with a Merc 320CDI engine.
Except an ML obviously.
I see that you can have it in everything from a C class upwards these days,
so I think it'll be either a C or an E - the S class is a bit large.
And one of these tuning box thingys.

Golf springs by
Doki
Can anyone tell me why spring kits for the 8V MK2 GTI and the 16V are
different? Is it to do with the spring cups on the shocks or just the weight
of the extra kit / engine on a 16V?

GOOD NEWS! by

The Latter Rain...
Salvation comes from God, whom the Bible calls as the Living God and
Savior. God is employing a human being in order for His will to be
fulfilled ... and that is the salvation of man.
Our Lord Jesus Christ will bring two kinds of salvation, through the
Bible. At the time He assumed human form, He saved Israel from its
sinfulness. That is written in Matthew 1:21, which says-

car ideas by
Vamp
thinking of selling my BMW before the MOT comes up or maybe just after as i
think i can get the old girl through easily.
anyway i been thinking of a new car to replace the BM and one of the reasons
i've hanged onto the BM (apart from oweing on finance) is that i can't think
of what i'd like to replace it. so i thought i'd ask for a few ideas. and
now i am pretty much ready to clear the last...

no ones mentioned the F1? by

i quite liked this weekends race, few incidents keeping it exciting, it's
probably the first time i've sat through the race from start to finish!
normally i watch the start then i'm in and out catching little bits then sit
down for the last 20mins but this sundays race was worth watching. loved the
night racing!
didn't look the easiest circuit either with all them bumps and those closed

Ewww, on topic post by

Amazingly enough, I did manage to modify a car today.
The MX-5 now sports a harness bar and 4-point harness for the driver,
plus a rear strut brace. Now all I need to do is find a convenient
weekend to fit the rollbar and I'll actually have some space in my
garage back...

My Golf has a 1.6 AFT in it - it says so on the cam cover.
Were I to consider an exchange engine, what fits where an AFT fits.
Doesn't have to be a 1.6 neccesarily :-)

OT ish: Pikey Bluetooth Head Unit by
Chris Bartram
Does this count as a mod?
I know someone here bought the Lidl one a while ago- well, now Aldi have
one for under £50. It's not half bad either. Does all you'd expect and
reasonable sound quality, plus takes a USB stick or SD if MP3 is your
thing. It even looks OK. There's silver (yuk) and black versions.
Only compalints? I had to take a dremel to the back of the Fabia's dash
as the unit was...

A post about modding a car by
Steve Firth
Well, sort of a car.
I've just finished changing every single rubber bushing on the 4xFord
for polyurethane bushings supplied by Energy Suspension Components in
the US. I've also changed the anti-roll bars for lighter components from
the same source, and I've replaced the short link from the roll bar to
the lower wishbone with a more rigid component from ESC.
It's transformed the feel. Much...

Civic VTI - Replacement standard exhaust in Stainless by
colenum
Hi,
I have got a 1997 Honda Civic VTI and find that each section of the
standard Honda exhaust rusts out in just 2 years. I now have found I
have a crack in my exhaust manifold and thought it would be a good
time to look into replcing the full exhaust system with a stainless
steel one.
There are loads of companies that do so called 'performance' exhaust
that sounds load but I would like an...

At last by
Pete M[_4_]
I've managed to get my hands on a car I never thought I'd be able to find.
After nearly 25 years of hunting one down, I've managed to find a tidy
Renault 30 TX. 68k miles, been off the road since the late 80's / early
90's. Needs recommisioning, a new back box, trim and bumpers putting
back on and a few little bits and bobs here and there. Need to flush the
fuel tank, etc.
I is a happy...
