"Tobacco Leaf". Mid '70s equivalent to wheatgrass, one of those colours
nobody sane would choose.

Ugg. ;-) IMHO they look best in Cameron green or white.

Heh, I've been trying to think of a factory colour that P6s look good
in. As someone who despises white cars it's not been easy. I'd forgotten
about Cameron green.

Hasn't it? I thought they had aluminium wings? I'm sure they do. At
least it'll just be a rub down and repaint.

Bonnet is aluminium IIRC, wings are rust-prone steel.

I then have a tense 40 minute wait while the MOT tester does his thing.
It's the first time he's clicked the "Before 1975" button on his gas
analyser, that amuses him.

ROFL...it amuses me as well.

Rust suggests otherwise.

Bonnet and, I think, boot lid were aluminium on mine.

Mine was "almond" same as the one in Lock Stock that Vinnie smashes
the man's head in with the door.

Here's a list with photos of all the colours

The Merc's left a space on the drive (A man called Dave came all the
way from Germany to get it, turns out he's something to do with Retro
Rides) and I'm now thinking about P6 as "the one that got away" heh. I
remember looking back across a petrol forecourt at it and thinking
"what a ****ing cool looking car"

With this done correctly you should have pretty smooth changes.

Ever thought of setting up as a Classic Rover specialist? I'm not
kidding...

I did used to look after a few for friends. But my day job pays at least
as well and I don't get dirty. ;-)

Paprika and Avocado are by far the best two colours there.

I stand corrected.

So that's what's up with you!
