Left home this morning to find that some kind chap had peeled back the
top corner of the passenger door on gf's car, in order to reach in and swipe the itrip she had inadvertently left on display. I bent it back into approximate shape, but I'll be surprised if it seals properly. Replacement door from a scrappy, I suppose; hopefully I can find one in a similar colour. Grrr. |

That sucks... It sucks anyway regardless of what the pinched but to me it's somehow worse when the cost of the damage repair is out of all proportion with what they took ![]() |

They'll most likely have broken in on the off chance that there was still an ipod / stereo fascia in the car. Scum. |

Some yobs broke into my ex M-in-Laws car by smashing a side window. After trying and failing to do the lock with screwdriver. They took about 95p in parking change and a polka-dot plastic rain hat. |

Same happened to my old Favorit, bent the door open, taped the courtesy light switch, tipped out the cd case and bits in the glove box, mooched through the few cheap but very heavy tools in the boot, and only took an old nylon covered fleece hoody I kept in the boot for if anything broke. I can beat that, many years ago[1] I had the side window smashed overnight, all they took (all there was) was a few tab ends out of the ashtray.. They did 2 of my neighbours too, seems they "really" needed a smoke.... The place I'm in isn't intrinsically pikey, but its a natural thoroughfare between a council sink estate and the local parkland, so a good spot for observing the nocturnal ****ed scally. Anyway, I've been putting up with it for economic reasons whilst house prices drop and savings grow, but it might indeed be time to MSLP... |

Believe me, it's nice to be able to live somewhere where you can use the summer opening feature to vent the car without finding some scrote has rifled through the thing in the five minutes the windows have been down. -- And remember kids, RAID is safe and the UPS never fails, and Cisco routers never develop intermittent faults, and external hard drives never fail with only a month's use, and the DNS is reliable and resilient, and the mailserver is protected from all forms of attack, and the replacement UPS will be reliable as the first one was an unusual failure. |
