Yay, thank you. *I can't believe that no-one else has suggested it.

As it happens, that is part of the masterplan. *The place I'm in isn't
intrinsically pikey, but its a natural thoroughfare between a council
sink estate and the local parkland, so a good spot for observing the
nocturnal ****ed scally. *Anyway, I've been putting up with it for
economic reasons whilst house prices drop and savings grow, but it might
indeed be time to MSLP...

Good plan I only said it because I was astounded that nobody else
had!!

I currently live somewhere decidedly un-pikey (looking on Right Move
the cheapest house for sale in my village is well over £300,000) yet
there are quite a few burglaries and car crimes (we get a twee little
village newsletter with a crime update, bless). The SOmerc (now
departed) and battered Clio outside the house, plus the fact we don't
have a massive plasma (a pikey small CRT and get this - a VHS instead)
beaming through the windows probably help protect us. Touch wood.

Thing is, Pikies travel from the areas they live in, to the areas worth
nicking from, and use stolen pushbikes/mopeds to do it. Plus you don't
**** on your own doorstep.

AIUI that's not actually true - rather a lot of the people doing this kind
of stuff are too dim to notice they are ****ting on their own doorstep.
