Default Power to weight - performance calculator

Yeah, yeah, you've all seen it before, put plug the numbers in again and see
what it spits out.

My Golf is so low powered and heavy that it falls off the bottom of the
chart, so I added some power and took some weight off. ( added 3bhp, took
off 40kg)

The numbers actually seem quite accurate. Golf Ragtop - as slow as a week in
the jail. Zzzzzzzzzz......

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 104
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1110
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 95.20
0 - 60 (Secs) : 10.83
0 - 100 (Secs) : 36.93
60 - 100 (Secs) : 26.10
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 19.32
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 72.34
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 19.12
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 73.53

Then I put the numbers in for the Sylva - these are much more accurate.
Very accurate actually. Woohoo !!

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 137
Weight without Driver (KG) : 550
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 253.09
0 - 60 (Secs) : 4.58
0 - 100 (Secs) : 12.38
60 - 100 (Secs) : 7.80
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.05
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 102.65
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 12.95
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 103.89

In time honoured fashion, your turn.

Comes out a bit fast for the V8 sierra with and without nitrous.
Wont let me enter a 290bhp turbo bike...
But comes out slow for a stock GSXR1100W and a 750 WP Suzuki compared to
measured figures.
And here I have to double weight and power or it wont let me enter...

"Burgerman" gurgled happily, sounding much like
they were saying:

Wont let me enter a 290bhp turbo bike...

It'll only let me enter one of the five cars, and neither of the two
bikes...

Bit crap, really.

BMW 325i Touring

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 168
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1270
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 134.41
0 - 60 (Secs) : 7.78

Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 16.11
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 86.02

Hmm, not wonderful.

Range Rover Turbo

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 300
Weight without Driver (KG) : 1975
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 154.34
0 - 60 (Secs) : 7.04
0 - 100 (Secs) : 19.32
60 - 100 (Secs) : 12.28
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 15.74
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 90.26
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 15.34
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 92.81

I don't believe that, not in the least, well, not when it comes to the
Rangie anyway. The BMW is probably reasonably accurate but I'm not sure
it's that light.

The 0-60 is about right as far as the manufacturers figures go I think.

I've never measured any of these in my own car, but I did re-paint my
wiper arms satin black today.

Locost

Seems a bit optimistic TBH

[1] Was 620kgs wet with driver at SVA, so minus 80kgs for the driver, but it
now has 5-speed 'box and zetec so add 50kgs.
