That is the something else.

The original alarm failed (15 year old factory fit integrated Cobra), so
I got them to rip the ****ing thing out and replace it. The replacement
wasn't Thatcham as the original wasn't and I declared it as
alarm/imobiliser factory fit other when I first insured the car.


IIWY I'd be tempted to ring the insurers and see what the difference is for
having no alarm - as I suspect it would be very small. Then, assuming it
isn't a big differnce, ask for your money back from the alarm fitters and
tell them they can keep it heh.

The alarm that is. I wasn't clear, ask for your money back, and tell them
to take the alarm out and keep it themselves.

My neighbour had a light blue one, and he's a big guy. He has a rangey now,
a white one, and he put a RV8 in his Defender looking thing in his front
garden. He is awesome to borrow tools from, and has an airgun and stuff!
His compresser seems to be self charging or something, as every now and then
it just makes a noise like a generator. And he welds!

My worry is that with it replacing the factory fit one, it will have
been wired into the loom the same, and removing at all might bugger up
more things than it fixes.

Someone, somewhere has probably mated the drivetrain from an old-skool
