Cobra themselves can be quite handy. IIRC they're not a million miles
from you, and are pretty useful on the phone provided you can prove who
you are and that the car is yours.

Cheers Pete, will just have to get deafened while I stick my head
arround the horn trying to model/code of the alarm.
There's a bloke here who might be able to help

I'm pretty sure it is the non-cobra replacement that is buggered so I
guess I'm in for a fisting.
The receipt for the last one was £40 code extraction and £35 for the
fob.

You may just need to re-synch the fob. Normally an easyish job.

Got the fob replaced by tech-tronic as it wasn't transmitting.

Got the new programmed cost me £35. Still nothing. Should have been
ready to go with no synching/pairing. It is an old fixed signal type fob
with a single program on board.

I would be happy if I could just get it disarmed so I can drive it home
and lock it on the key.

Had a little play at work.
Phoned Cobra, they said it would have to removed if I didn't have the
disarm key.
Phoned a Cobra reseller, said the same.
What they both said was "undo the back of the siren, and disconnect
the loom, it will stop the siren and the hazards but it won't stop the
immobiliser".

Had a look at the car, set the alarm and tried to start it and it ran.
Hmm, no active immobilizer.

So I tried my old shed key. Wouldn't turn all the way from on to off,
but it clicked. So I stopped messing closed everything and went away.
Tried it a couple of hours later and fine, could open the door, start
engine, rag it arround and jump speedbumps. And it didn't slip back
in.

Going to properly disconnect it over the weekend, but as long as I can
get home, all good.

Might go see Falcon tomorrow and see if I can arrange for a decent
alarm to get fitted and get that properly removed.

"Mike P" gurgled happily, sounding much like they
were saying:

That's not worth £1500 for a start, plus, IME "leaky radiator" is soon
followed by head gasket failure on T16s. Happened to me twice. On top of
that, it's the "ugly" 900 saloon. Ugh.

Yep, I'll second that "Order a HG kit, you're gonna need it"...

Definitely overpriced, compared to my £500 3dr.

I've been looking for one for ages, not seen one at the price you paid. I
should never have sold my last one :-(

IME C900 prices are all over the place. The "future classic" ****e people
were bandying around a while ago has really stuck in some owner's minds, and
they think their alright example is a minter worth £3000...
