More grip than anything ever. Awesome sound, 100-0 in just sub 4 seconds - the brakes were epic (big Brembos all round). Great engine that just begged to be ****ted. Good gearbox. Didn't check for cup holders, dash in the Cup isn't soft touch like the full fat - didn't care. Corsa VXR - less grip, but still loads of it, slightly more roll, fantastic engine (1.6 Turbo) with loads of torque. Felt somehow a little slower than the 197. Styling a bit OTT for me - but the blue is nice. Interior is seats, standard fit Recaros are brilliant. Bluetooth phone syncing thing is the best gadget ever. Ride a bit bouncy and skittish but it was wearing 225/35/18 tyres. Again, awesome sound. Sounds like it has inherited 'Blue & Me' from Alfa... so it'll break ;-) Conclusion - preferred the Clio, felt more stable. Corsa more tunable, but a bit crass looks wise. I like the current shape Clio, but surely there are much better cars to have as a V6 replacement? It'd be my pick of the current hot hatches. That and for £12.2k + options on the road brand shiny new... corsa VXR don't do it to me, the styling is a bit chav IMO 1.6 motor though is not a bad little lump. not driven a new shape clio yet but seen them around at work love the rear diffuser. personally hot hatch wise for 12k i'd pick a works cooper s should be able to get one with that kinda cash or a focus ST at a stretch (and it would be probably) Even by Clio and Corsa standards, the Mini is gay as ****. And ugly. And over priced. And the supercharged engine is a bit crap IMHO. Not that powerful and mental thristy. And a Focus ST? What? I can't think of *ANYTHING* I like about them heh! mini's rule and i like the ST focus, ok bit big to be sporty i guess! trouble with the corsa VXR is the astra VXR aint far behind on price and has more punch! i wouldn't have a clio cos i'v never rated the renault build quality so between that and the corsa VXR i guessed out the 2 i'd pick corsa unless i had the choice of the mini then i'd pick that! come on you can't say the mini is any more gay than your 2 big powered shopping trolleys! |
