Feel free to mention it to them. They're well known for responding
immediately and with full attention to comments from their customers. Oh, wait... Wouldn't be an issue if people used proper newsreaders ;-) Not that old chestnut again. If a link is provided, it makes sense for it to be in a form that is easily accepted by most newsreaders, which is why I always use 'SnipURL' for long addresses. Yours becomes:- http://snipurl.com/1stsd Much better. I don't expect those using OE or any other newsreader that wont accept long addresses to have to fiddle with a link I provide, so I make it a simple one click operation. Or even better - use the nickname function, like I've done he http://snipurl.com/sillyfiesta Potentially handy should you ever need to give someone a url over the phone as well. Peter |

BTW, if you put Ebay links in like http://search.ebay.com/200165808415 then you don't get any hassle with crap newsreaders botching the link... Tell you what'd be handy - if eBay actually provided a shorter link in that sort of format at some point on the auction as a simple "copy + paste friendly link" so people could just do the "copy shortcut" on the right click menu on IE (as that's what most people use) to share stuff. I've been outed as another HappyMac apologist. I use Thunderbird for NNTP on my Mac and Windows. The UIs are similar enough for it not to matter and it suits my relatively pedestrian Usenetting tendencies. It also has the added advantage of knowing what the ****ing time is when the clocks change. (c; I did fire up Soup just to prove that I did know how to work it, but I remembered why I don't use it - it's cos I can't work it. (c: -- Douglas |

Sniping at someone for using a Mac when the person they were having a bit of banter with also uses one. -- SteveH 'You're not a real petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa Romeo' www.italiancar.co.uk - Honda VFR800 - Hongdou GY200 - Alfa 75 TSpark Alfa 156 TSpark - B6 Passat 2.0TDI SE - COSOC KOTL BOTAFOT #87 - BOTAFOF #18 - MRO # - UKRMSBC #7 - Apostle #2 - YTC # |

Problem with those is people don't know where that link is actually going to go, and in these malware rife times, it asking for trouble to be reading the likes of usenet and be clicking on people's tinyurl/snipurl posts. |
