Saab 9-5 HOT Aero by SteveH
Must resist. £8k for an 05 plater with Sat Nav and all the toys. Outrageous value for money - and they've already been passed as OK by my boss, as a colleague is ordering a brand new estate version. -- SteveH 'You're not a real petrolhead unless you've owned an Alfa Romeo' www.italiancar.co.uk - Ducati 750SS - Hongdou GY200

Woohoo, car fixed... for now. by Elder
It was the fan speed controller, it was the more expensive one that normally retails at £120-150, but I picked one up for £15 of ebay and took a chance. And the best thing of all, they put it in a much easier to get at place, so the whole job took 20mins from looking for my screwdriver mini socket set, to putting the rubber trim back on. Now I don't need to sit in a gale force as soon as I...

Is this overpriced for a trade car? by Elder
If the details are right and it has full history? http://smallr.com/3d5 With the arse ache I'm having with the replacement alarm and even higher petrol prices going on and on and on, time maybe for something a little newer with a lot less miles and a more reliable history. I love the aero, but I can't use the alarm for risk of it going off after between 30 seconds and 5 minutes for no...

That funky like Toyota with the gullwing doors you used to have, a Sera I think, do you have any good pics of it online that you could provide me links too :-) ? One of my mates just started talking about them to me, he knows someone who has one apparently, and he wanted to know more about them. I was wondering if you could also furnish me with some useful/interesting Sera facts and owner...

Power to weight - performance calculator by Bob Sherunckle
Yeah, yeah, you've all seen it before, put plug the numbers in again and see what it spits out. My Golf is so low powered and heavy that it falls off the bottom of the chart, so I added some power and took some weight off. ( added 3bhp, took off 40kg) The numbers actually seem quite accurate. Golf Ragtop - as slow as a week in the jail. Zzzzzzzzzz......

Additional fuel tank by Eric[_2_]
VW LT35 I wish to add a small fuel tank to this madel (deisel). The existing tank has a flow and return line, so that excess pumped fuel is returned to the tank. Can someone advise what proportion of pumped fuel is returned? I wish to add a 7 litre tank - but for simplicity to connect only a flow pipe - excedss fuel being returned to the existing tank.

I have discovered the secret of car electricals. by Elder
Monday, fitted stereo worked first time, saved my sanity because it wasn't the wiring, but something in the old headunit that was causing the speakers to flick in and out. Tuesday, fitted secondhand blower fan controller to replace failed one, worked first time, saved £100 on a new part. Today, turning left, indicator going double time. Hmm, got to work, switched them on in the car park. All...

Top Gear Australia by fishman
Fraser will be thrilled, Top Giya is going to have its own Australian version. I wonder if it will have an Australian Stig who is friendlier than the British one? Anyway a country so in love with cars is definitely deserving of its own quality motoring show, but then again it is a country that regards this as a desirable two seater sports car: http://tinyurl.com/fe3nq I found this thread which...

Mini-test: Silvercrest bluetooth headunit. by Elder
Cheapy from Lidl. Works as it should, phone/a2dp works nice, come with external mic/button. Tuner is fairly powerful, sounds OK through 15 year old Saab speakers, better than the Philips/vdo nav headunit that was in. And I can still leave the nav system in the boot to swap out the headunit if/when I sell.
