Insurance for multiple cars by tehJaffamuffin
Hi all What is the best approach to take regarding getting insurance set up such that I don't need to take out policies for every car I might own/ drive, e.g. like a trade policy? i.e. I have 2 vehicles just now on a multicar, but plan to get another car soon, and sell one of my current cars, in a month or two. Normally you can phone up can change to the other car, but I don't

Buying Number Plates by Usenet Nutter
I 'phoned a local Motor Factor place recently to see if they did number plates and they said to bring in the Reg Document ( they might also have said to bring some form of ID but I am not sure ) .A couple of points .I'm in Scotland and I thought these rules about proving the car the plates were for didn't apply to Scotland and secondly there are loads of places on the Internet that you can buy...

Interesting by Steve Firth
Conclusion "The Rover 75 is and remains "exotic", BMW ownership has not changed things . But in spite of poor build quality, moody electronics and numerous other poor characteristics of the 75 it has the merit of being rare . My tip: If you are looking for an oddball car and you are not afraid of visits to the mechanic consider the Rover 75. If you're someone who attaches importance to build...

Tax Band K by GB
Band K includes vehicles over 225g/km but registered pre March 2006. Otherwise, these would fall into band L, which costs nearly £200 a year more. Does anyone know whether this concession is due to be phased out? If so, when? -- Take it easy on the kid, SilverFox316; everybody kills Hitler on their first trip.

Tips for driving in the Snow: by Tim..[_2_]
The majority of driving have seen recently i would suggest; 1. Get the revs to at least half throttle, mybe more, say 3500-3750 in a diesel and 5-5500+ in a petrol 2. Depress clutch, engage 1st gear, let clutch out and increase revs as the clutch bites. 3. Once you have the wheels in motion, press the accelerator firmly into the floor carpet and keep it there. The rev limiter serves to...

Another tedious "which used car" thread by Mugwump
Sorry all, just looking for inspirational ideas... £5000-12000 for a "family car" that the misses can use for work (60 motorway miles a day). Replacing a tired 2004 Micra. Must be; Enormous inside but very very easy to drive and park. Great visibility for an oompaloompa, space enough for a lump like me. Economical as possible - +35mpg, preferably +45 Long-legged and as sophisticated as...
