Insurance groups - how to find out? by
John[_15_]
Just changed my 1997 (R-reg) Nissan QX 3.0 SEL Auto for a Nissan Maxima QX
(52-plate) 3.0 SE+ Auto and my insurance has gone up over a hundred squids.
Circumstances forced me to accept it so that I'd be covered to drive it home
but now that I've had the time to ring and question it, they reckon that the
old one was a Group 14 and the new one is a Group 27 and that's the reason
for the...

Will service make difference to P/X offer by
Ken
My car is close to needing a service but I don't want to spend the money
unless absolutely necessary as I am looking to getting another car within
the next 4/6 weeks. Should I get the service done and if not will it make a
difference to any P/X from a dealer?

krusty is so hated
Tsssk, it seems difficult to imagine why a spamming, trolling, drooling
retard could attract such opprobrium.

Increasing fuel costs - is a good thing by
Krustov
As local corner shops cant sell things as cheap as the big supermarkets
can - then as fuel costs increase - then the less you will save by
driving to the supermarket and back unless your doing a big weekly
shopping or whatever .
So , If you just need a 6-12 items , Then it could actually be cheaper
walking to a local corner shop to get what you want even if the items in
the local corner...

Insurance question by
John[_15_]
I want to sell my car (probably on ebay) but last year I had a bump in it -
momentary loss of concentration saw me run into the back of a stationary car
at a roundabout. It was only a low-speed bump, probably no more than about 5
to 7mph but the crumple zone did exactly what it said on the tin and the
insurance paid £2,500 to repair it.
The repair was done to superb standards and I certainly...

1998 Focus immobilise not responding by
mcmorineg@hotmail.co.uk
Hi all, I have just purchased a non-running Focu from auction. I have
two key's for the car and although I can omit dash lights with either
key, the engine wont turn over.
I can manually excite the starter from bridging the positive bat term
over to the ignition wire on the solonoid (sp). With this, the engine
turns over. However, fuel does not appear to be comming through. Nor
is there a...

Air con and fuel efficiency by
Toby Newman
Can anyone tell me if air-con uses more fuel if the chosen
temperature is very low, or if the temperature is just slightly
below ambient?
When I turn on air-con at idle, I hear a change in the sound of the
engine as the load is added, but I don't hear any further change if I
adjust the temperature control between warm and cool.
I suspect it may be most fuel efficient to keep the air-con on...

Written off car - lots of hassle by
Martin[_2_]
A lad at work woke up to the sound of his car being wrecked.
The insurers wrote off his car, poor offer as well, they moaned like hell
because we removed the head unit and cd changer.
He didn't ask for his car to be written off yet he is treated like ****.
I was surprised that they messed around so much, he is now trying to claim
for all the costs of viewing a replacement, and then he still...
