Sell with or without MOT? by Trevor[_3_]
I was putting out Peugeot 206D on EBay to sell when I discovered it hasn't had an MOT for the last 3 months. It is 10 yrs old and I have owned it from new. According to various book values it could be worth anything from 600-1400 GBP. However, I have been given a quote from our garage of £800. It needs a recon Gearbox, 4 tires and a new battery + minor other things. Do I sell with or without...

Engine Management problem by Alan Mills
My car (03 Honda Civic) has been off the road for the past year. Last week I had it MOTd and taxed. The second time I drove it after this, a warning light appeared indicating a problem with the engine management system, specifically connected with emissions control. This seems to mee to be a rather obscure problem, certainly not one I can solve. Has anybody any suggestions? Alan Mills...

MK1 Megane / Sccenic towbar by Him & Her[_2_]
Anyone know if I am right in thinking that the towbar for a Megane and Megane Scenic (96/98) are the same. IIRC they shared the same chasis/running gear. -- Regards, "The car in front is a Toyota", aren't you glad it's in front?

Selling car in bits by freddie
I have a 1990 Toyota Celica. Before I am told, it's not good enough for the car scrappage scheme. I was reading in a site that it is better to strip all the bits than taking it (or having someone take it) to the scrap yard where you will get little money after you pay for the transport. I bought some parts like the alternator 4 years ago, others are in good condition.

another which car question by thomas
I'm looking for a sensible and reliable fun car for around £10/15k I'm thinking of a saab aero petrol convertible auto (around an 06) and a BMW 3 series petrol convertible manual (heard of auto and diesel horrors) at this age is reliability an issue - the lower mileage cars I've looked at are serviced only every 2 years, as I'll be buying from main dealers I'll accept the higher prices in...

Aftermarket parking sensors? by Mugwump
New-to-us car is too big to not have them. I'm not going to fit them myself, so any recommendations or horror-stories based on the common brands found on Google? I note there are, broadly, the no-holes electromagnetic type, or the regular grommet ultrasonic type. I don't mind the holes, especially if they are more effective - do they usually have a more effective range? Do the...

Frozen driveways by astrog
Could not get the car out of the drive this morning, spinning wheels etc, tried about four times no luck. What I need is grit methinks. However grit like gold dust right now so no use. Then remembered something I heard on the radio. Cat litter. The gravelly stuff. Went indoors and got some, spread it on the drive, out first time no problem. Cat didn't care.
