Selling car for parts, no V5C by
Phelyan
Ok, I have to admit I'm confused by all the forms to do with cars and
regulations.
Here's the situation:
I have an old Rover, which has recently packed in. Immobiliser gone
and break discs shot. Both repairable, but too costly. So we have
decided to sell it for parts, but we have lost the V5C/logbook thingy
(you can see I'm very technical about it).

re front wishbone rear bushes by
RBR V6
I have just had these replaced on my v6 4 motion golf. The garage told me that when they were last fitted they were fitted incorrectly. on checking through my records I had these bushes replaced at the same garage one year ago. Should I query this with the garage ? do you think they are just ripping off a vulnerable female ??

Is Ford Direct worth using? by
David
I very rarely buy or sell cars, so I would welcome some advice.
I'm going to buy a 2nd hand Focus and want to make sure it is not going
to need repairs soon or there is some damage which needs frequent
maintenance.
I had thought of getting from a private seller but I have heard a coupl
eof times that private sellers tend to expect too much. So it seems
better to get a 2nd hand car from a...

vehicle damage by car wash by
linda.windsor7@virgin.net
I would be interested to hear from anyone who has had problems with
car washes. I unfortunately used a Tesco drive in car wash and it
managed to damage my TWO wing mirrors. I am trying to get Tesco to
admit liability as it was impossible that I used the car wash
incorrectly, misused and failed to comply with any of their
regulations. they are saying the car wash was not deemed to be faulty
and...

106 Pug - adding power steering??? by
Young Laura
I think that it's a silly question BUT said that I would ask.
A poorly friend has an 8 year old pug 106 that has great sentimental value
and she wants to keep it and get power steering put in it so that she could
drive it again. I think that it'll be too expensive - if at all possible -
especially for a car so old.
I think that she'll have to get a newer car on the Motorbility system.
Any...

Trailer Test (Cat 'E') advise by
Alan
Hello,
Can anyone with experience of the trailer test help?
I passed my test after Jan 1st 1997 therefore need to do the trailer test to
add category '+E' to my license, in order to tow trailers over 750kg.
I have a test booked for a few weeks time, and a suitable trailer booked
with a local hire company, who are fine with me using it for the test.
I've got plenty of experience towing, -...

Can I do my MOT test if I've lost my current MOT cert? by
jgkgolf@hotmail.com
Hi, My MOT is about to expire this weekend and I can't find my current
MOT cert.
I know I could go to the garage where I did it last year to get a copy
but I don't even know what garage that was as my mechanic took it
there when he was doing the service. He is now on holiday and has
switched his mobile off. Help!

Should all new cars have electronic speed limiters? by
alexterrell
Should all new cars have electronic speed limiters?
Something like:
All new cars sold in the UK / Europe must either:
1. Be electronically limited to travel at no more than 140 / 150km/hr
2. Be fitted with a GPS based speed limited limiting its speed to 15km/
hr above the prevailing speed limit.
Almost everyone's first reaction to this idea is strongly negative.

peugeot 206 question by
smiffy
Just bought a 2001 206. it has a radio cassette player,(Blankpukt)Cd
changer (Clarion)and controls on a steering stalk.
Anyone know if it's possible to change the radio to one with an MP3
player, and still retain the controls on the stalk and the display head?

Mini QED info by
alexterrell
There's an interesting description of the Mini QED's engine
compartment - a 21 KWhr Li-ion battery.
http://www.pmlflightlink.com/news.html
Quote: "The completed battery is housed in an aluminium box that is
similar in size and weight to the original Mini engine that it
replaced." Anyone know what that weighs.
Does any one know if they have room for a generator as well? How light

wheel cross compatibility by
R D S
Whats the best way of knowing which wheels will go on a car?
Ie, the bird wants some alloys for the Multipla, I guess Punto/Brave etc
wheels will fit, is this correct?
And what, if any, other cars are the same?
Cheers.

Interesting new insurance limitation by
David Wright
Not seen this before - latest Insurance certificate received today now
states, as the first item under Limitations, that the Policy does not
cover... "Use on the Nurburgring".
Is it that popular these days that they have to explicitly exclude it now!?
I blame Top Gear..

Cost of a road sign (see image) by
Doo-dah
What would be the approximate price of a road sign bought privately?
I am thinking of something like this which is on a pole about 4 foot
high and contains 4-inch black lettering on a non-reflective white
background

Advice BMW 320i Convertible by
Bob Phillips
I would appreciate some advice/thoughts/opinions on the new BMW 3 series
convertible.
I am looking at the new model, with the metal roof. It is very nice,
especially the roof, but the extras spec is negligible, and it is very
expensive. There are no discounts to be had anywhere that I can find.
My question is, is this a typical BMW trick? I think that maybe BMW are
holding back on the...
