Lending a vehicle - obligations? by Lobster
I'm thinking of lending my car to a friend for a few weeks while I'm abroad. If so, obviously I'd need to sort out the insurance side of things, and hand over the MOT cert, but does anyone know what else I might have to do? Should they have the logbook as 'proof' they have the car legitimately? And/or, ought I provide a 'to whom it may concern letter' in case they got stopped by the law?...

MPG / Fuel used by Paul S
I recentlty completed a 570 mile journey (in a Clio 1.2). The car's computer reported 13.6 gallons used, whilst the brim to brim reading says 13.25 gallons were used. Which is likely to be the most accurate ? I guess there's no easy way of checking the mileage !

Selling a car: The motorist guide by alexterrell
I'm trying to sell a car, which went into Autotrader. I was contacted by the Motorist Guide. http://themotoristguide.co.uk/email/guide/ They offer to sell the car for an upfront fee of £80, and claim to have buyers waiting. But talk is cheap, and based on upfront fees I'd like to know whether they can deliver. Has anyone used these guys? Any views

Motoring offence technicality by adder1969
Hi, I've googled for this but haven't been able to find an answer. I park, on occasion in a quiet residential area where almost no-one has a drive an almost every available space on the road is taken up with parked cars. Today I received a fixed penatly notice for "unnecessary obstruction". It was near a "junction" but there are no road markings. (I'd seen PCs there in previous days where...

2008 Subaru Tribeca by TDR911
The crossover segment is hotter than a kitchen fire at Buffalo Wild Wings, so Subaru could ill afford to wait to update its Tribeca, which landed with a thud two years ago when it was launched with a strange face, an overworked powertrain, and a pointless B9 prefix. http://automobnews.blogspot.com/

Silver Fiesta white under the bonnet by aw114ageuk@yahoo.co.uk
Is it normal for a 1997 R-reg silver-coloured Fiesta to be white under the bonnet? I've just been to look at a 1997 R-reg 1.25 Ghia Auto. It's silver in colour, but under the bonnet everything is white (slam panel, inner wings, firewall etc). My first thought was that it had been in a front-end crash and had the wings etc replaced, but that wouldn't explain the firewall being white. It's HPI...

Toyota Prius (AutoExpress) by Martin
Hybrids such as the Citroen C-Crosser not only help save the environment, but owners cash in, too, in the form of lower fuel bills. With this in mind, one Toyota Prius buyer has splashed out on options - to the tune of £15,000! Where is the environment saving from battery manufacture?

Benefits of LHD? by Chris
I've seen a few references to how LHDs can be better to drive, simply because they are usually designed as LHD first, and RHD as a modification (I'm ignoring the issue of overtaking, etc.) Has anyone experiences of this that they could relate? -- Chris

Replacing/repairing bust transponder/key for Vauxhall Zafira by Lobster
The key transponder plip thingy has suddenly stopped working - doesn't action the central locking/alarm any more, and the little red LED on the key no longer flashes. Replaced the battery to no avail (although the sudden failure mode would suggest to me that the battery wasn't the problem?). So looks like a new key would be in order... I gather these are an arm and a leg from Vauxhall,...

M-B A150 5 door. by Dave Plowman (News)
Had one of these in Spain on holiday. Wanted an occasional 5 seater and booked a Focus, but got 'upgraded' to this 3 month old Elegance. The Focus is the only car of this sort of size I know so just a few comments on the A150 which was petrol and manual. Ridiculously light steering that didn't weight up at speed. Harsh suspension - you had to near stop to go over speed bumps. Otherwise the rear...

used Peugeot by shine on 55
We put £500.00 for a used peugeot CC at a peugot main dealer. The car seemed a good deal at the time, so we were happy to pay the deposit on a £13,000 car. We have not collected the car yet, as we are trying to sell our car before settling for the part exchange. This was 10 days ago. We have subsequently found an even better car elsewhere in the country and would like to buy this one...
