Microscan alarms by 547
Hello, I am about to buy a microscan alarm, but can't get any idea of how much they cost to have fitted. Unfortunately no one wants to fit them - Demon Tweeks said NO too. There is a leaflet in the box, which I will not get to see until after I have bought it. Can someone give me an idea of how much it costs to fit the AN211 or AN700 and how reliable they are, or should I be looking for...

An unusual fault by Mike G
Some time ago, when braking quite heavily as I pulled into a dirt layby, the n/s/f wheel hit a pothole quite heavily. Thaught little of it at the time as when I pulled away to continue my journey, the car drove quite normally. The car is an ST185 4WD Toyota Celica GT4 turbo, with 65k on the clock. About 10 miles later, a very loud creaking, or screeching noise started to come from that corner of...

restoring an old car alarm by Dave
Hi, I just purchased a 1990 Honda Civic. In the documents given to me, I found an instruction manual and receipt for a Pirahna alarm (I know they have been out of business for years). According to the man who sold it to me (his grandmother had owned the car) at one time the alarm functioned as an alarm, immoboliser, and remote central locking facility. I have the keychain button thing but it...

CAR MODIFYING SITE by Organ
"547" wrote in message ... Hello, Boyracers are really funny. I have lost count of how many of their cars drive about in daylight with front foglights switched on. What is the point. They sit at traffic lights with the windows down and a stereo thumping away to distortion. Think of Kevin & Perry for an idea of...

And let's not forget that it aint December yet - using a mobile isn't quite illegal, it's just about driving with due care at the moment. I believe it's illegal from August, fine only, points kick in from December.

PSA TU engines by Carl Gibbs
Anyone know the difference between the TU3S engine (205 XS for example) and a TU3 SPi engine (some 106 bog standard model for example). Apart from the obvious carb vs SPi. I believe its only the camshaft, but wanted to check. TIA -- Carl -- 205 XS (rally car :)) http://www.geocities.com/carl_gibbs21

Caravan Safety by Conor
In article , says... Hello, what mandatory safety tests do caravans have to go through in manufacture and during road use? Do caravans have to be checked like cars during an MOT and are caravans crash tested by manufacturers? There are no mandatory checks or MOTs for caravans and it's a firkin disgrace.
