Minimum SORN period? by
David Hearn
Does anyone know the minimum SORN period is?
I'm wondering whether it's possible to change the tax date for our car
by declaring it SORN, getting a tax refund, and then re-taxing at a
later date. Of course, I could not use the car whilst it's SORN - but I
was wondering what the minimum period you could SORN it for?
Alternatively, any other easier way of changing the car tax due date?

Anyone still use beam deflectors abroad? by
Paul Giverin
I tend to fly and hire when going to Europe these days but in a couple
of weeks I'll be taking my own car over to France. The last time I
fitted those stick on beam deflectors to my lights, they left a sticky
mess that I never got off.
I don't fancy making a mess of the lights on my newish car. Does anyone
still bother with them? I won't be driving at night hopefully. Come to
think of it,...

Moose[_3_]
Hi everyone,
I've got a 1999 BMW 316 Compact Sport (UK spec) and I've bought a new
CD/SD card audio system for it. I've got one of these adaptors for it
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/bmwrover-wiring-adaptor-p-1283.html but
there is just not enough space in the dash mounting for the audio
system and the adaptor, they will just not fit!
The audio system is standard sized so are there any...

EVO mag auctions 200SX for pennies. by
Peter Hill
http://www.evo.co.uk/news/evonews/219600/nissan_200sx_auction.html
Lessons in the art of ZEN, smallest engine (1.8) won. It's got about
20bhp more than it's supposed to have (washers under wastegate
bracket?), the rest were all way down on makers claimed power.
Only round it lost was 0-100-0mph to the Soarer. Above 70mph the
Soarer's extra power made a big difference. Nothing a bit more...

Scabby old Golf by
Mike P
I've just been given a scabby old F-reg Golf MK2, 1.8 4+E model. It's
"metallic maroon", has a scabby wing and door and a cheesy set of alloys.
Other than that it's done 190k. No history as such, but it's been in the
family for 12 years and has been reasonably well maintained. It has MOT
until November and tax until July. It has a CD player.
What can I reasonably expect to sell it for? It...

www.jpgimage.co.uk/full.php?image=938
On most used car websites - if a car doesnt have a image - it usually
just display a (blank template no thumbnail available) image .
I decided to write the make/model/price on it create the thumbnail if
the car doesnt have image .
I also decided to write the car reference number at the bottom left hand
corner of the thumbnail .

Full size spare tyre - 50mph limit? by
David Hearn
Our Mk2 Focus has alloy wheels (as standard) with (I think) 205/55 R16
tyres. The car (as standard) comes with a space saver tyre, however the
original purchaser opted for the normal sized (steel-wheel) spare which
has the same size tyre as on other wheels. I thought it was good to
have a full size spare as it would mean we could keep going at normal
speeds etc if we had to fit it - not...
