There must be easier ways of getting Insurance Quotes by Ken
Last time I looked, on the web, there were sites where you could input basic information and get quotes whereas now you need to spend ages inputting lots of personal and other details. Anyone help with link/s that I can dip in and get quick ideas of quotes without filling in long winded forms.? Ken

Idle air control valve or oxygen sensor or what? by vampire chicken
I have a 1995 VW Golf GL, automatic. BION, it has only about 30,000 miles on it. I always warm it up and I replace the oil and filter every 6 months. Every 2-3 years I do a basic tune-up because it has always run very well and I use it so little it makes no sense to change spark plugs which have 2,000 miles on them, etc. It started running slightly unevenly about a year ago, a couple of...

Car insurance renewal price by R D S
Every year I end up with a different insurer. I understand why the renewal price they send out is inflated (nothing wrong with optimism) but why would they rather see you go elsewhere than reduce their price to remain competetive? Do they snare enough long term customers on the back of a decent initial price? I was insured with the Post Office last year, their renewal price was £420, the best...

Porsche Boxster Wind Deflector by Crickey
Does anybody know how to fit the glass (perspex?) wind deflector for a Porsche Boxster? I ordered one which has come without fitting instructions and although fairly handy I can't see how it attaches using the supllied steel pins. Any help gratefully received. Roger

Metallic spray job by maxi
Righto I got rtound to spraying my silver bumper today using rattle cans. I got about 3 coats on and when dry it looked a bit darker than my existing panels, only if you look quite hard. Now as its metallic it says I need to flatten it then clear coat it. Some say not to flat it just clearcoat it ? which is the best way ? Ahh yes will gently wet and drying it with 1500 grit lighten it up ?...

Spraying help by maxi
Righto basically I have sprayed my metalic bumper up, spray job is good even for a rattle can. But as I said in another post which my newsreader has lost is not spot on. Its a little bit darker looking, although my wife said she can;t see the difference and that I'm being a picky git. I wet sanded it with 1200 grit today as it says on the can. Its come up and bit lighter, but I fear when I...

Diesel MPG drop? by Chris Bartram
I've noticed a slight drop in MPG lately, and on a forum I read so have several others with diesel cars, as has my brother-in-law. Normally I'd expect slightly better summer MPG. Has anyone else noticed anything similar? Is there any connection with biodiesel in forecourt fuel? My usage patterns haven't changed.

Car Insurance Question by paulfoel
If you have an accident and there is doubt over which driver was at fault what happens? I know usually the insurance companies dont bother getting involved in any arguments but what happens? Do you both end up claiming on your own insurance (and paying the excess) ? Or claiming off each others (with no excess to pay)?

Taxing - quick question by DanB
Right, I'm selling my car, it's currently disabled class. To change it from disabled class, to normal and tax it at the same time you must go to a DVLA office. No problems there. The new owner is coming on Thursday, and probably won't have his insurance certificate by then (only arranged tonight, leaving home 7am Thursday). I will still have a valid insurance certificate for the car -...

My car radio has stopped working but the CD player is ok? by jgkgolf@hotmail.com
As described really, the car radio stopped working , came back briefly, and then stopped completely. When I say stopped working , I mean it switches on and the pre-tuned stations are still there but no sound. However the CD player works fine. It's one that came with the car , a ford focus, it's a 6000 'something' e-o-n . Any suggestions, sounds like some loose connection if it came back briefly?
