Corsa Twinport by DervMan
"Ed Chilada" wrote in message ... For a month or two I've been snikering to myself when I've seen a Corsa that says "twinport" on the back, since 'obviously', it just means two door and it's designed to sound cool to the kids. Then I saw a five door one and then again today, on an Astra. So I guess that's not what it...

Police fuel by chris-de-burgh@uk2.net
It occured to me the other day that I've never seen a police car filling up with fuel They fill up at normal garages, seen them loads, they use fleet cards for the fuel and they have to use thier own if they want any drinks or food.

Car accident - insurers say write-off - alternatives? by redyellowgreenblue@gmail.com
Hi I had a bit of a car accident, I drove into the car in front on a roundabout and have done a fair bit of damage to the bodywork at the front of the car. The mechanics tell me the car is OK, that the engine is fine, and that it is just a bodywork job. But the insurers (Norwich Union) say the car is a writeoff, particularly in view of its age (1994) and because of the number of miles (150000).

buying a car abroad (from Italy): delivery and doubts by marcosala1@supereva.it
Dear all I'm Italian; I saw a car in autoscout24 that is very convenient (probably too much!); I got in touch with the seller who told me that it is in a warehouse in London and that they will deliver the car to Italy paying 25%, that I can check and control the car for a week and if it is OK I can pay the remaining amount else they take back the car. The company that has the car is called...

Reduce fuel consumption avg. 13%, greenhouse emissions 50-80% and increase power by Dennis Wijers
The EcoMag Activator System is a revolutionary component that can reduce the fuel consumption combustion engines, while at the same time reducing greenhouse gas emissions and giving your engine more power. By reorganising the molecular distribution of the fuel and air intake into the engine using a magnetic charge, the Ecomag Activator helps the engine run more economically, while also...

Licence points? by shazzbat
Can someone get points on their licence for having a brake light not working? I've just been checking the DVLA site, but none of the offences refer directly to lighting, although I suppose CU20 could be used as a catch-all? I was under the impression you could get 3 points, and now I seem to have started a debate. Steve

How do you connect a computer fan to a car's lighter plug? by Weatherlawyer
Is it a conspiracy by the evil Andrew Lane in the style of Hurricane Bush, that there have been no decent weather presenters on duty during this hot spell? Damn but I would like to have that git pilloried! In the meantime, too late to do any good as usual, I would like to know how to connect a computer fan to the cigarrette lighter of a car. Anyone know?

summer caravan season by michael@entamedia.com
Hi, I've done Speed camera games, I've done Fuel tax ones. Seems there's not many motorist frustrations left, but since I now have caravans to contend with as well.. this is my only answer. http://www.galaxyarcade.co.uk/games/caravan_toss.php Enjoy

Top Gear again by Zimmy
I know lots of people on here like TG and OK, it is mildly amusing occasionally, but if I see another 'race' between two completely unrelated things, I'll go crazy. Where's the excitement/relevance/point in that? Its not just a tired format, its totally worn out. Next week: Can Clarkson fill up the tank in the Aston before Hammond can boil an egg? How about a very occasional look at real...

And consider that it isn't crap like all the others. OTOH it does appear to be a Lambo in drag. http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=6690345637828811295

Torque and HP by alfi286
Me and a colleague both have new cars coming in september. He has ordered a ibiza fr (130hp, 310nm) and i've ordered an astra vxr (240hp, 320nm). One of the things I liked about the astra was the amount of power for over taking. Would these two cars pull away the same when overtaking. Whats the advantage to having more hp if the torque and overtaking power is just the same.
