Another insurance question by Turbo Turban
Hi guys, I have now stopped rhyming, and return with tail firmly between legs and eating a large portion of humble pie. It's a simple question - but I really must explain the background before I get openly chastised (yet again). I was basically testing out the Picasso's clutch on my drive (it slopes upwards toward the house) - so I could decide whether it needs

Yet another "what car" post. Sorry by Pete Smith
Hi. Subject says it all really. Father in Law is after a new car. His old H reg Pug 205 diesel "is on its last legs" (translation, slight oil leak from the head gasket at the back, holed radiator, leaking sump plug where some muppets used silicone mastic to fix a bodge job). He thinks it's not worth sticking a 2nd hand radiator on it.

Why so many lorry crashes near Clackett's Lane Services? by JNugent
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/5258840.stm Anyone who has - even occasionally - to use the stretch of M25 between Dartford and the M23 (the SE quadrant) to get to Surrey, Sussex or Hants will know what a daily nightmare the bit between the A21 and the M23 is, especially currently, with the northern stretch of the Orbital effectively blocked for eighteen months by persistent multi-mile...

Hi, my missus has a MKV Golf manual..., this weekend its developed a problem where you put the car in gear, release the clutch and it neither drives or stalls. The car seems to know it's in gear cos I tested reverse and the reversing light came on. Anyone know what this problem could be?

Used Car Recommendations by boots
Hello all, Need some help with a few different areas with buying a used car. Firstly some background, currently driving a extremely crappy VW Polo 1.4 CL (96), not holding out for too much for it, or anything at all. Will hopefully get the car on finance from the dealer (credit history not too great and might struggle to get a personal loan), not sure on what type of finance to go for. Have a...

Any electronicky clever buggers here? by Mungo \two sheds\ Toadfoot
A common fault on K11 Micras is that the heater blower resistor card fails, leaving you with full chuff or nothing. The card looks a simple thing, having only four connectors and a few tracks of varying widths on it so would it be possible to replace the board with resistors? Why didn't they use resistors in the first place? Heat? Are there any other alternatives to me spending nearly ~£25...

Swap - Your Wrangler Jeep for my 2002 Daihatsu YRV by Adam H
I'm looking for a good manual Jeep Wrangler 2.5l YJ in the south or east midlands. Ideally it won't have been off-road much, will have a good soft roof and won't be modified. I am offering a swap for my 2002 Daihatsu YRV premium - red, 1300cc VVT engine with less than 35k miles, A/C, ABS, glass panel roof, service history in excellent condition - this car usually gives around 45mpg. (Different...

Go on then...a valuation please by -=D@n=-
Chaps I've gone and bought a car, the first car I've owned for ten years due to having a company car. I'm changing jobs so needed to buy a car. It's going to be a shock to me: insurance? tax? fuel? repairs? what's all that about? Anyway, I've already bought: Registered November 2002 - 52 Plate Vectra 2.0DTi Elegance - New Shape - Silver (how original)

need to tow a car to Hatfield... by adder1969@yahoo.co.uk
...anyone know where I can borrow or hire a towing dolly or A-frame to tow a car 2 miles to Hatfield in Herts? So far I've been quoted £85 from a recovery place! The car is a non-runner so I'm thinking just regular towing might not be a good idea.

Selling a Cherished Registration (And FS, Registration, I Guess!) by Adam H
I'm looking to sell my cherished (!) registration, and have looked through the DVLA's website with little understanding. Yes, http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/cherish.htm tells you how to transfer the reg to another vehicle, but it doesn't seem to mention transferring it straight from my car (used every day) to someone else's car. (Hopefully, the new owner) Is there a difference? It mentions...
