Windscreen repair by mo
Have a small crack on my windscreen - looking at getting Autoglass to fix it - I don't want to involve the insurance company if possible - anyone know roughly how much they charge to fix a small crack? If I involve the insurance company will it affect future premiums like a claim might? The excess is massive on the insurance anyway so I don't wanna get them involved.

MOT with wrong mileage! by Lobster
I've just had an MOT done, but the tester has filled in the odometer reading incorrectly (he misread one digit) so that compared to the last certificate, the vehicle's mileage has apparently fallen by about 300 miles rather than increased by about 8000. Given that both certificates are computerised ones, that presumably means both mileages are now logged at DVLA somewhere - so should I worry...

[OT] old van tax? by Depresion
What's the VED on a '77 panel van used for private use only, would it be the same as for a car of that age (It's a small van with less than a 3.5t limit).

OT: car true or false facts by Krustov
www.emailuser.co.uk/tofshow.php?question=1004 I uploaded a half written true or false sort of trivial pursuit script last night and while i dont know what sort of people have answered so far - the austin allegro rear window popping out issue was and is well known - even after 20 odd years by the looks of it . Either that or they seen the same tv program as i did a couple of years ago :-)

159mph policeman - twoc and no insurance? by Neil McDonald
The policeman found guilty but given an absolute discharge for driving at 159mph - it was stated in evidence that he was off-duty at the time, so are police cars insured for off-duy officers to drive them for non-emergency purposes or are they only insured for use at "work"? And also, did he have the owners (his Chief Constable?) consent to take the car and for the purpose he was going to...

Connects2 adapter broken?? by Him Off De Telly
Gotta Sony cd changer in the boot with a Connects2 adapter to link it to the wiring harness in the boot. It seems to be dead - having been erratic recently. Display just says CHANGER then reverts to the radio. I have tried different CDs, even tried an identical Sony cd changer. Could the problem be the Connects2 adapter itself? Is there any way of checking this? I suppose it could be the...

Hi all I just sold my ex wife's Pug 306 DT, 100k FSH for £1650. It's a 96 P reg All the others I found on autotrader website were going for around £1000. She was unsure about selling so bunged it in autotrader for £1700. Sold to the first caller for £50 less than asking price. WTF??? I really don't get how it went for that money!! Could it be the colour? Cheesy Peugeot gold? Other than that...

Aircon needs gassing, can I leave it? by R D S
My aircon has no gas as the pump needed removing for a recent repair. Shall I get it gassed or leave it until next year for the few days it might be needed? Will leaving it do it any harm? Cheers, Rick

Now got MOT but what happens at the Post Office by Ken
Posted earlier in the week and since had my MOT. Interesting that the garage said it is much more common that you would think still a lot of people think MOT is for five year old cars. Now wonder what happens when I go to the Post Office - will they cross check the date on the MOT against the age of the car or is it just a case of issuing the new Car Tax to me? Ken
