Cleaning K&N air filters by Neil - Usenet
I put my one in a airtight tin that's half filled with petrol. Leave it to soak overnight, and then give it a hefty shaking session. Remove, let filter dry and dispose of dirty fuel. "Alex, Scarborough" wrote in message ... Hi folks, seasonal greetings to one and all etc, Does anybody here have any tips on cleaning K&N...

CameraShy plates are a RIP OFF by chris-de-burgh@uk2.net

The UK Speedtrap Guide and Sheffield police setup this test using an operational Gatso camera. The test was for the Sure Signs "Camera Shy" number plate. MPG Focus by RichB0
Does anybody know of a site where people post actual (not VCA) MPG for their cars? I bought a 1.6Tdci (05) Focus in July and my figures are 40 - 48 Av 46, where as the VCA figures are 48 -70 Av 57. I would have approached purchasing the car quite differently had I known such large discrepancies could exist. The car has been checked by two Ford dealers who found nothing wrong and I am aware of how...

Rover Head Gasket.. by Mad Dog anti EU
It is a long time since I had one but has anyone ever had trouble with Rover and a head gasket. I had a 414 sli going back a while, head gasket was gone after a while and a few people have told me they had the same problem. Just interested to know as we were discussing Rover's in the pub, I told a guy not to buy one IMO. That is just my opinion based on personal experience I mean no...

A big 'F*ck you, you clueless c*nts'... by jackhackettuk@yahoo.co.uk
....goes out the huge number of retards I've seen out there the last few days who seemed to think it was clear enough for them to do 80+ (1) along the local motorways, but foggy enough to warrant rear fogs. If the main concern is you're going to end up arse-ended if you don't have them on, a clue: you're dazzling anyone else travelling behind thanks to the lack of fog not masking the intense...

The most amazing thing ever... by scoopex
Try this, it really worked for me... :-)))) Do it for 9 consecutive days Prayer to St. Jude O most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of. Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone.

Taxation Class "Disabled"? by David Wright
I've picked up a car and the taxation class on the New Keeper Supplement says "Disabled" where I would expect it to say P.L.G - will I still be able to tax it armed with this, and will the Post Office change the class for me when I do so, or do I need to send it to the DVLA first (or visit the not-so-local DVLA office)? Cheers, D.

Daft **** on the M62 by Steve
I have to commute from Manchester to Leeds and back and I have to say I think I've seen the UK's worst driver.... Several times.... About 9:30, Saddleworth Junction to Lord knows where since he disappears into the distance in a nanosecond. Inside lane, middle lane, overtaking lane. One car gap? No problem to this knob, he'll get his black hatchback reg no starting with DY in any space....

Cheaper car insurance for women by Krustov
Seen a tv advert today where it said summit like 'cheaper car insurance for women' . Ahh but you say - women have fewer crashes and/or make less claims than male drivers . But men buy more petrol than women - why dont men get cheaper petrol ? . Lets put that aside even though its going to be the same old arguments made about the cheaper car insurance for women .

Police - was I pulled? by Steve
Driving over Yorkshire Moors last night, about 19:30. I was driving pretty fast, not over the limit though, closing down on this car, which turned out to be a Police Car.... I slowed down, and on came the blues and he pulls in. Having never been stopped ever in 20 years of driving I was unsure what to do so I pulled past, and pulled in in front about 100 yds and waited, since on the telly...

"Green" Cars by lurkio
In the 1970s the 2CV appeared to be the car favoured by the green movement (though I'm not sure that's what they were called in those days) yet the emissions were just about the worst you could get this side of a Bentley or a Jensen. The Prius and other Hybrids seem to be the trendy green car YET It appears that in the US there is already "proof" that cars such as Jeeps are really better for the...

Using fuel on the overrun ? by Gio
It has been mentioned in the past regarding fuel economy devices etc that modern cars do not inject fuel while on the overrun, eg.while going down a hill in gear etc. Well at the moment up here in b**!!*y cold Scotland I noticed something this morning that has made me question it. No doubt someone can explain my observation so I have a better understanding. Being very cold but with no...

Car, engine layout online. by Mad Dog anti EU
You know that there are books available regarding most cars and generally they give you most of the information and plans of the cars engine, etc. They are thin hard backed and I forget who makes them. Is it possible to get something similar online depending on what car you need the information on. -- "A horse a horse my kingdom for a horse, I haven't had a winner in six months".

What new car £12K? by unit244@defencecontracts.org.uk
What new car would you recommend with a price of circa £12K There are no good NEW cars for around £12,000. IMHO you need to spend over £50,000 before you can get any new car worth actually worth having. There are far more better used cars you can get for £12,000. All £12,000 gets you is poorly made poverty spec things like Ford, Vauxhall, etc. Avoid.
