Peter Hill gurgled happily, sounding
much like they were saying: But the 1967 NSU RO80 was nearly 10 years before all of those. Two years before the M35. Three years after the Sport Spider. Two years after the Mazda Cosmo. |

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember "Tim Downie" saying something like: Wankels Besides, who wants smooth quiet power, I want a bit of rortiness! ;-) 600+bhp achievable from an asserted 1300cc isn't rorty enough? |

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember Chris Whelan saying something like: It was rumoured when they were current that there were more of them on the road with Ford V4 lumps than with Wankel... Probably true. And what a piece of **** that V4 was - if only some other lump could have fitted. |

The German Ford V4 was better - as used by SAAB. -- *'ome is where you 'ang your @ * Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |

For 600+bhp I could probably put up with a bit of zizziness. ;-) Tim |

I know it can be done, but it makes it too long for my use. |

drugs began to take hold. I remember "Zimmy" saying something like: There's always the 3-rotor 20B option? When I first looked into that they seemed to be available as front cuts from Japan, but the price... Looking around again, there's a New Zealand machine shop doing 3-rotor eccentric shafts for 12a or 13b base and it's only (hah) 2,200 NZ$ - plus shipping, plus import, plus VAT, which brings it up to around 3 grand. Then there's the cost of getting another donor lump and doing a complete rebuild/meld on both. Oh... bugger it. It was only an idea - as I say, if I'd more bonnet room I'd look seriously at linking two nose/tail (with a bit of chopping in the middle) as the cheapest option. Pity they can't stack; one on top of the other, with a big Gates belt. ****, now hold on a minute.... ![]() |
