Not labour - the torys thought this one up .
Any tyre over the size 155x13 should be subject to a instant £25 per tyre tax levy - as obviously large/big tyres need more metal and rubber to make them - and cost more to dispose of . In a way this does make good sense as if you have something that is more damageing to the enviroment than other similar smaller products - then it is only fair you should pay more . |

It's another pile of steaming goat**** from Krusty. 155x13? Is there anything made that still uses something that small? Even 1.2 SXi Corsas have 185/55/15's, and the shabbiest Kias are probably on 14s by now. Besides, even the teflon tyres on the unholy Pious^(TM) are bigger than 155/13. 285/75/22.5s and the like on buses and lorries are quite often re-groovable anyway [1] so would the Nu-Krusty plan charge the tax for removing and refitting big ****-off tyres? Well, the key question would be "Width or height?" Smarts use 15" rims and only 135s on the front. 15 is "bigger" than 13. 135 is smaller than 155. |

So that's virtually every car on the road INCLUDING the Pius then? -- Conor I only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow isn't looking good either. - Scott Adams |

I could have, but Krusty isn't in mine at present as I'm always astounded by the new levels of ludicrousness (ludicrosity? If that's not a word it should be. Maybe Ludikrusty?) passed off as "New government plans". I did concider making a post to say that there would be a new eco car tax based on the overall area size of the headlights - as obviously the bigger the car - the bigger the headlights it will have . But even i have limits :-) -- www.krustov.co.uk |

How about basing a tax on exhaust pipe diameter (correcting for non-circular pipes)? |
