Anoraks by Pat Crouch
I joined this group thinking that it contained technical information, and help, to those, who had an interest in such matters! It has become appatrent that this newgroup is infested with those who seem ore obsessed with newsgroup ettiquete, spelling and other irrelivent matters, than the question in hand. Some of you do n ot seem to be interested in cars, but nip picking. Grow up. What a...

03 Fiesta leaking by Bob Smith
I have an 03 5 door Fiesta, and the rear passenger footwell is full of water on the drivers side. I have checked the seals on both doors on that side, and they seem OK. I had a look at it tonight (it's raining), and cannot feel any wetness around the doors. Is there anywhere else that water could be coming in? I am assuming it is not a hole inthe footwell because the water is pooling...

Immobiliser on 1996 Discovery by [email protected]
The immobiliser on my 1996 Discovery is being very temperamental. It locks OK with the fob button, but when I unlock with it, the driver's door lock comes up as normal, but the door refuses to open, in spite of the fact that all the other doors do. I have to re-lock, and then unlock with the fuel tank key, and be ready on the fob button when I open the door, before the alarm screams out. Any...

2001 Ford Focus Cooling by Dr. Compynei[_2_]
Hi All, I could be well off here, but in my 2001 Ford Focus, the engine temp seems to go up a little, then down a little, up then down, even on motorway runs. In traffic it sometimes gets halfway up, though I've not seen it go past this. Just wondering is there a problem with the thermostat, as other cars I've driven seem to warm up to halfway generally and stick there when alls well.

59 Mark 1 Sprite (Bubgeye in States) Springs by J A Sims
Hi All, this is for a mate in California. He has a 59 Bugeye Sprite. The suspension in the rear bottoms out with more than one person in the car, I think he's had shims put in etc etc on quarter-elliptical leaf springs. Any ideas on a fix, he cant find new springs apparently. ta J

Ford Focus Sport 1.6 2007 by Ewald
Hi All, For the 2nd time my Ford Focus 1.6 (Sport 2007) car has stalled when driving trough a pool of water. Also, once after washing the engine the car failed to start. It does not crank at all, neither was there a fault code. After a while like 2 hours the engine would crank again. Its definitely an electric issue.... but where? The dealer says all is normal, and the car is under observation;...

Peugeot 406 Rear Door Lock Problem by dgudgeon
Has anyone come across this problem? My pessenger side rear door is refusing to open. When I turn the key in the front doors the motors can be heard moving in the rear but alas the door remains permenantly shut. Bit embaressing for friends to have to climb over from the other door. It seems to be impossible to even open the door from inside too. I can't even get it open to strip the door panel...

VW keys: retrieving your SKC code? by JB
Does anyone on here have a copy of VAG-Tacho or any other tool capable of retrieving the SKC (secret key code) from my T4? I have VAG-COM and so I can code the new keys to the vehicle, but if only I had the SKC code. I believe this is only the older 4-digit code as it is a '97/98 vehicle with the passive transponder in the key. VW are obviously no use at all. Thanks, JB

VW T25 Club Joker Westfalia Campervan by [email protected]
The one I have bought has a 1.9 diesel, not turbo. Trying to make it as quiet as possible. It has a new exhaust. Does anyone know if sound deadening kits for the engine bay exist?

air con fan by JT
The air con fan which comes on in parallel with the compressor on my Peugeot 806 has recently become one speed only...maximum! It didn't used to be noticeable but now is on, loud, whenever the digital air con is in 'auto'. It goes off when I switch to 'eco'. Is there a sensor somewhere which controls the fan speed? The compressor clicks in OK and the system seems to be working fine. Any...

Replacing front brake discs and pads on 03 Clio by Ian
Hoping for some good pointers here! My wife's 03 Clio's brakes are shuddering quite badly when braking. I believe there may be some warping of the discs and so am looking to replace these myself (trying to keep costs down!). I've done basic car DIY many years ago and have a Haynes manual for the car but was also wondering if there is anything I need to watch out for or any tips for changing...
