Here are just a few stories of the very many out there that clearly demonstrate that the decision makers and PR machine at the top in the RSPCA is rotten to the core! RSPCA use a slaughtermans weapon to kill 10 GSD's DESPITE they claim to the donating publi that "They ONLY...

Price of steel plate? by A.Lee
My van needs some welding for the MOT, so I called into the MOT station (who also do repairs) to ask them to sell me a few bits of steel for the plating. I was given a piece, approx 2 foot long by 5 inch wide, with an half inch angle on one side (ideal for sills apparently). For £5. I was rather taken aback, I was expecting a £1, maybe 2. He then told me a full length of it was £12ish, a sheet of...

94 Festa big end bolts? by T i m
Hi all, A mate was half way through replacing the big end shells on his sons old 1.1 (Kent?) Fiesta then read the book that said these big end bolts were 'one use'? Then he was told that he couldn't get replacements from Ford? So, is either true and if so what does one do please? Cheers, T i m

Inspection light by Peter smith
Can anyone recommend a inspection like torch doodah. I've been meaning to buy one for a while and whilst struggling on job I started to late relying on street lighting lol I now am motivated in getting one. Has to be small-ish, portable battery or rechargeable, ... if it has a hook and magnetic bits would be very handy. I have a wand tube which I never use as it needs a power supply so I...

2004 Accord driver's armrest by Kostas Kavoussanakis
The armrest on my 2004 Accord does not catch. The armrest does not seem to rest fully (by a very few mm) at the front and, even if I press it slightly to position, the catch does not mate. Is there an adjustment that I can make to fix this? Thanks, Kostas

Would you buy a part worn or "new" tyre from ebay ? by Peter smith
I saw a deal on some fairly decent tyres with about a £30 saving on tyres and was thinking hmmm would I trust some random stranger from ebay on a tyre. For some reason I'm suspect incase its been damaged somehow. Tempting, but not for worth the risk for £30. Anyone bought tyres of the bay ?

Leaking after air con use by Clint Sharp
In message , Anth writes Thanks for the explanation most, interesting.. In early units the compressor was driven by an independent electric motor, presumably little different then to a vehicle's unit being run from the engine, IIRC they also had a reasonably trouble free life, apart from an occasional broken drive belt or...

fuel pipe connectors by shazzbat
Anyone know of a source for flexible connectors, for instance for joining the long pipes to the tank unit. I know many times I can get away with just flexy pipe, but in the case where a right angle bend is required, or the ends are different sizes it's not so simple. Any ideas? -- Steve Never shake the ketchup bottle. None'll come, and then a lot'll

Mazda B2200 cylinder head by Paul[_4_]
Anyone know where I can get one quickly? I am so fed up of these 'we'll send your enquiry to hundreds of suppliers and scrappies all desperate to receive your enquiry'... whatever! Concerning that particular motor - B2200 diesel pickup, anyone know if the head is robust enough not to need skim/replace (not had time to whip it off yet).

Ford Ka water leak by Ivan
18 months ago we replaced the head gasket on my daughter in law's Ford Ka (Endura-E engine).. head skimmed, new gasket/bolts, torque and 90° settings all done by the book, a couple of weeks ago I noticed a few spots of water underneath the car, on checking everything out I couldn't see any problems, however it's now got worse and I can see that the water is dribbling out from between the...

One of my cars is currently SORNed. Am I right in thinking that the only way to legally get it to and from an MOT test is to trailer it?

Sierra by Mark
I do love my £200 Sierra. Bought on ebay in 2006 and still going well. Does 130 mile every two weeks from Surrey to Norfolk and so comfortable. Always suspected head gasket from the day I bought it after smelling exhaust smell in coolant so decided to leave coolant cap loose so not too much pressure builds up that might make the exhaust to coolant problem expire sooner than later. Its still...

Ford KA crap brakes!! by Redwood
Mate has owned a 03 ford KA from new & done about 25k miles (think it's just a basic 1.3 model). I drove it for the first time and although the brakes seem to work ok it has a long pedal travel & have to apply much more pressure - like driving a car with non sevo assisted brakes. Just doesn't feel as sharp as other cars I've driven. Said I'll check it all over but was just wondering if the...

Escort door adjustment by conti
Hi have just replaced the front drivers door on a P reg escort (96). Doesn't quite shut as easily as the other 3 doors and there is a slightly larger gap between the door and wing compared to the passenger door & wing. Is there a way of adjusting the door to fit (you have to slam it to shut it!) in the door seems to be two nuts that could be used as an adjustment? Any help appreciated. Thanks...

Improving BMW Mini not using factory upgrades by john royce
The difference between the BMW so called mini *First* and the mini *One* seems to be the One has about 20 bhp extra (from the same engine block as the First). Additionally it has different wheels (not alloys), air conditioning and a different steering wheel. This results in a price jump from £10.950 on the road to £12.345 on the road. Adding the so called 'Chillie Package' upgrade to the One...
