Importing from Japan_Help!! by JeRiCo
Hi All I want to bring a MPV over from Japan, & could really do with some advice. Everyone & his Grandmother seems to be doing this now, but the profit margins they want seem unreasonable to me? Ive been browsing some of the Japanese auction sites, & a typical decent looking 10yr old Estima/Lucida sells for around £1600 - £1800, add £650(ish) for shipping, & then theres the VAT & import duty,...

Importing Fords - better in Europe or US? by Maguires Garage
We've been importing Fords from Cyprus for years but in recent years we keep hearing that it is cheaper to bring them in from the US. Anyone know whether this is true or not? - what sort of volume are you talking to really make money? James http://www.maguiresgarage.co.uk

Reclaiming VAT by moni
Hi I imported a car from Germany in 2002. I rejected it to the dealer after it had a fault, and after court battles it was finally taken back by the dealer, and the purchase price refunded. Where do I write to to reclaim the VAT I paid when I imported the car to the UK, and which papers do I need to include?

Micronet Showroom by Jules
I've been doing some research into this company (Micronet Showroom). A friend of mine bought her car through them last May (2003) and had no problems whatsoever (3 weeks from order to delivery), so when my car was written off in an accident I decided to check them out, not that I did as much research as I should, I now discover. I rang them paid a deposit (very stupid of me I now realise) but on...

Article of interest !!!!!! by k
I found this on a bulletin board like this one and decided to try it. Previously I was browsing through a newsgroup, as you are now, and came across an article similar to this that said you could make thousands within weeks with only an initial investment of £5.00! So I thought, this must be a scam but like most of us, I was curious, so I kept reading. Anyway, it said that to join you must...
