Do they test MoT emissions on lpg or petrol? by
redwood
When the emissions are checked for the MoT test, on vehicles with lpg
conversions is it checked when running on petrol or gas? I thought it
was tested on what the vehicle was running on at the time it is
presented for the MoT but my B-in-Law was told it has to be tested on
petrol (and failed).

Hi, needs some advice about spare parts. by
Elder
I'm considering a Range Rover Vogue SE 3.9 EFi that has an LPG system
installed, but the switch over control has failed.
I've been told the system installed is a Lovato system but I can't find
too much info on them. Are spares for this system easy to get hold of,
or are they pretty much universal, with one maker supplying everyone
with switches, another supplying tanks, and then the brands...

lpg prices by
gm4jnw@gmail.com
I am starting to look around for an lpg car, probably an astra or
similar, but am wondering if I am doing the right thing. I have
followed the lpg prices and they seem to be creeping up above the 50%
less than petrol mark.
Before I jump in can anyone tell me if the UK government have made any
comments re the differential between petrol and lpg.
Must admit, taking mpg and differential and diesel...

Remapped ECU vs. LPG System by
Dav-G
Dear all,
I've had my original ECU remapped on my '02 Volvo V40 1.8i to improve
performance.
Now I've got an LPG system fitted (Zavoli Alisei-N multipoint sequential),
how do I ensure that the LPG system is also taking advantage of my remapped
settings in the original ECU?
Someone mentioned 'recalibrating the LPG system to the ECU' to do this.

Volvo V40 Dual-fuel Boot Area by
Dav-G
Hi LPGers.
Does anyone have a factory-fitted dual-fuel LPG Volvo V40?
If so, can you tell me whatg the boot area looks like?
Even send me a photo of it?
I've had LPG fitted to mine, but have a dilema regarding what tank to fit.
As the spare wheel wellis very small, I can only fit a tiny doughnut tank

another additive? by
Mad Ad
Any thoughts on this?
http://www.arloff.myffi.biz/uk/
Cant imagine how its supposed to work, the blurb says its not a petrol
additive (but it goes in the tank, how can it not be) but a 'combustion
chamber conditioner' which, if anyone remembers the claims, acetone could
also be called as its supposed to help the fuel burn more efficiently?
As its a pellet its probably nothing to do with...

Volvo V40 Doughnut Tank by
Dav-G
Hi LPG People,
Can anyone tell me the dimentions (diameter & height) of the factory-fitted
LPG doughnut tank, fitted into the spare wheel well on a Volvo V40?
Preferably a 2002 model.
I've converted my V40 to LPG and currently have an 18 gallon cylinder tank
behind the rear seats. As this restricts the use of the loading bay area,
I'm thinking of altering it to a doughnut tank in the spare...

Help please by
PinballUK
Hi
I have a transit 2 litre dohc 1998 s reg with a Tartarini tec 97
system. The problem that has happened now is that it has completely
smashed up the air filter box and all the air intake system up to the
inlet. It has been backfiring. I have taken it to an lpg place and
they say their system cannot read the box, although it should be able
to. I have ordered a new air intake system but I am...

Gas Injection or Lamba setup by
RobB
Hi, I am changing from a carburetta to a fuel injected espace and
transfering the parts that are suitable from my old espace to the newer
model. I was wondering wether I should splash out an extra 2 or £300 and
go for gas injected lpg setup. Does anyone have any views as to wether it
is worth it and what are the advantages and disadvantages. I will probably
get the Vogas Sequential Gas...

Underslung tank espace by
RobB
Hi I am in the process of transfering my lpg setup from my old Espace mk1
to a newer series 3 model. I think I will have to replace the toroidal
tank because the identification stamp has corroded and much of it is now
unreadable including the date stamp. Can just make out the pressure test
and capacity.
I am wondering if it is still seen to be OK with cop11 regulations to have
a tank that has...

BRC vapouriser adjusment by
Austin Shackles
Got a BRC AT90E on the current V8 3.5 disco, running open loop. It's just
been for MOT and failed on LPG due to about 7%CO.
Having spent about 2 hours getting my CO meter to work, I concur, it's way
high at idle. Petrol CO figures look about right.
Running at 3000 rpm on LPG it was a bit high too, so turned it down to about
1% which should be OK, I reckon, but it's still showing about 7% at...

The drawback of lpg by
jonny
Anybody considered the drawbacks with converting a petrol designed engine to
lpg.??
Burnt valves and increased oil consumption. Reason being there is absolutly
no lubrication in lpg
Petrol is an oil product with built in lubrication properties. Gas has none.

my twin gas tanks - really slow to fill by
ChelseaTractor
Hi,
I've had an LPG conversion on my Land Rover for a few years, and it's
always been ridiculously slow to fill. I have a 30l and a 40l tank. As
soon as I get 35l out of the pump (after a couple of minutes) it
rattles like hell for a minute, then goes so slow it would take another
10 or 15 minutes to fill to the max, which I believe is 80%, ie 56l
total. This suggests the larger tank fills first,...

What can a Classical guitar do for you ? by
Isy
http://www.guitarsfromspain.com
For most players, the realm of classical guitars is one that they'd
just as soon avoid. The scale length is different, the neck is wider,
and they're harder to play, so why bother? Why? Because the world of
the classical guitar is definitely one worth exploring and one that
will reap incredible rewards the more you explore it. A well-executed
classical passage...

sparkPlug gap setting (Grand voyerger 3.3) by
redwood
My B-in-law has a 1998 Chrysler Grand Voyager 3.3ltr that's converted to
lpg. When cold it often backfires so I said I'll fit some new plugs &
leads as he's not sure when they were last changed. NGK suggest
BPR5EP-11 plugs pre-set to 1.1mm. I've heard that running on gas it's
best to narrow the plug gap so does anyone know what setting I should
use? Cheers.
