'V' Groove Plugs by Stewart Hargrave
In an effort to improve my recent poor idle (as posted elsewhere) I bought a set of NGK spark plugs which have a V groove in the centre electrode. It's tempting to think that these are intended to give two sparks instead of just one, but actually I think they just help to define the 'launch' point of the spark. In circumstances where spark formation is relatively difficult I thought this may be...

LPG and Grant question by Will
Well ive got a new job and may end up travelling a few miles and ive got 2/3 cars that I may purchase but all vary in price. Question is one of the cars is a 18month old Renault Clio 172sport. Is there any chance of a powershift grant for such a car and if so how much? And can any installers out there give me a rough ball park figure for a 70 tank in the boot of the car please? I know its not...

Uneven Idling by Stewart Hargrave
My open loop system (Volvo 740) has started to idle unevenly for the past 10 days or so. It has always been prone to a very slight unevenness at tickover, which can sometimes be improved by adjusting the 'mixture' knob on the vapouriser, but now it is far more pronounced, and I can't dial it out. It's enough to shake you about when sitting at traffic lights, it shakes the exhaust pipe on its...

Can Anyone clear up a few questions for me? by Mike Sherlock
I read somewhere that LPG cars run on petrol for a short while (till the engine gets warm?). Probably Rubbish, but maybe not? Would it be any use to me if i got my mid sized motor (1.8) converted to gas? I do mostly short journeys to work and suchlike but when I do travel long distance (twice a month+), where talking over 200-300 miles a time. Or More.

Postal Lottery: Turn $6 into $60,000 in 90 days, GUARANTEED I found this in a news group and decided to try it. A little while back, I was browsing through newsgroups, just like you are now and came across a message just like this that said you could make thousands of dollars within weeks with only an initial investment of $6.00!!! So I thought yeah right, this must be a scam!!! But like most...

Probably a stupid idea? by Adam Coombes
Given that LPG 'likes' higher compression 'cos of the higher octane rating, and that direct injection is the way to go; would it be practical to convert a diesel engine into an LPG one by adding an ignition system rather than starting with a petrol base? Reasoning (possibly flawed): Current diesels are much higher compression than petrol, or even older diesels. The new diesel fuel systems are...

Stupid question by Chris
Just sat here wondering about the 'state' of the LPG in my tank at the moment. I mean, this stuff wants to be gas, it's just pressure keeping it liquid right? So, when the tank is half full what state is the fuel in, I assume that it will mostly be liquid with gas taking up the void, but what keeps the liquid part liquid and the gas part gas, they are at the same pressure so they should both be...
