Jeep Cherokee running rough - update by
Raymond Ramsey
Many thanks to all who offered advice regarding my Jeep Cherokee running
rough when switched to operate on petrol. Most ideas revolved around the ECU
requiring resetting. It actually has proved to be a faulty fuel pump. It
runs for a short while before the output drops to a trickle.
My garage has dropped my tank and emptied the petrol into a container - it
is absolutely full of iron filings....

Starting from cold by
David Cawkwell
I installed an LPG kit in a citroen AX (well I actually took a lot of the
components
from my previous car which expired). The citroen has a carb and I have tuned
the vapouriser and flow value with an exhaust gas analyser.
The car starts and runs fine from warm. I notice the engine needs a few more
revolutions to start than petrol. However from cold the engine shows no
willingness
to start on...

Insurance by
Mjolinor
Just read the FAQ and would like to suggest a list of what each insurance
company does in terms of increased premiums to be included in the FAQ. So to
start it off :)
Norwich Union Direct. No increase but a requirement that the system is
fitted by an "approved installer"
Churchill. No increase and no questions about who fitted it (thats a couple
of years ago, it may have changed now).

Buying year old Astra LPG by
Philip
Hi
I am looking to buy an Astra with LPG already fitted (dual-fuel).
What questions should I ask, or paper work do I need to ensure it is all
converted and installed correctly?
It will be around an 18 month old Astra. One I looked at was already
registered LPG and grant claimed from Powershift by previous owner (of
course not expecting to claim again!) so assuming that means it is okay?

Fuel Starvation by
SteveG
Hi all,
Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed that when runing on LPG I
get what appears to be fuel starvation after I've done about 60miles
from a fill up. This begins as a minor irritation when accelerating
out of left hand bends and gets progressively worse until it happens
when accelerating in a straight line. Surprisingly, it never happens
if exiting a right hand bend.
The vehicle in...

Cats by
Mjolinor
Just found this newsgroup and it is far too un-busy.
Having run my Merc C200 on LPG for 5 years it started making not unpleasant
but rather too loud noises out of the exhaust. I took the cat off and opened
it up and there was nothing in it. The cat had completely disappeared. So
food for thought for all the cars out there with this yet to happen. To make
it well again I welded some baffles in...

Please excuse this intrusion on your newsgroup, but I would like
to take the time to apologize for any annoying messages you may
have received from Mad Bill Pal m er that were signed with my
name. He is no longer associated with me, my alliances lie
elsewhere, but the conniving old fool thinks that he can get away
with posts of a very dubious,...
