Tuning open loop by
Andy Warner
I'm looking for a bit of advice on how to initally tune an LPG system. I'm
working on a rover V8 and have just fitted a Tartarini G79 open loop kit to
it. It's running on Strombergs.
I can just about get it to run quite well at idle, but can't get much power
out (not enough to drive it), increasing the revs leads to stuttering
seemingly no matter how I adjust things.
I've got the following...

Cylinder head problem by
Mark Lane
I have a Discovery S2 with a Romano Direct Injection LPG system fitted in
May 2003. The car had completed 30,000 miles prior to LPG and had a full
Landrover service history. I have continued to get it serviced at Landrover
and have been told today that I need a new cylinder head. The warranty
should cover me but the dealership say they will blame this on the LPG as it
makes the cylinders dry...

backfiring by
howiewebcaman
I have a 1997 vectra 1.6 16 v with a Tartorini Tec ? system installed. it
has been on the vehicle for 3 1/2 yrs now. It generally runs well, but I get
an occaisional backfire. The airbox lid gets partally blown off, I have only
2 retaining clips left to hold the top of the airbox in position.
Can anyone suggest anyone competent in the Manchester area to sort it?..or
perhaps tell me what can be...

Solenoid petrol tap? by
Adrian
All,
It strikes me that the LPG convertors might know where I could obtain a
solenoid-operated petrol tap...?
I'm thinking it's the sort of thing that would be used to turn petrol off
when switching a carb car with a mechanical fuel pump over to gas.
Any thoughts?

Does anyone know where the dump valve to drain the heavy ends for this
regulator is? I looked at the bottom of this regulator and can't see
it.

Problems problems problems by
Oliver Keating
Well, I think my lpg system is going to pot. Flat spots all over the torque
curve, engine stalls (frequently), noticeably smoother and stronger on
petrol.
This has been slowly coming on, and the conversion is over 40,000 miles old
now.
Problem is, I have a Tartarini kit, and almost noone seems to have the
software for it! GRR. So who in the south east/oxfordshire/west sussex can
sort me out?

LPG Kit for '99 ES Disco by
Aussie0battler
Does anybody know of a company that can supply a LPG kit for '99 ES Disco.
The kit I am looking for is direct injection with twin tanks to replace
existing petrol tank and a smaller petrol tank to fit into the inner wing. Or
twin underslung tanks in the sills.
Thanks
Michael

BP ULTIMA DIESEL LESS MPG ! by
Alan Buttivant
I have a Landrover Freelander TD4 less then a year old. I have noticed that
my local BP service stn is selling Diesel Ultima which cost about 3 pence
per litre more than the regular diesel. I asked the benefits and was told
that it provides less pollution and gives much better performance. I decided
to test it in my vehicle.
Findings:-
No noticeable increase in performance, in fact I believe...
