Filling UK propane cylinder with autogas in Europe????. by Polly Thumper
Has any reader any experience or knowledge of filling a campervan's UK propane cylinder using autogas? The question arises as I have a motorhome and on longer tours to Europe have the usual problems of getting Calor cylinders refilled. I would seem a fairly simple thing (fitting compatability differences from one country to another aside) to make up an adaptor that would enable a car LPG filler...

DIY by Andrew Wheeldon
I have been a regular contributor to this group in the past but have not done a conversion for about 2 years now. I have come to the conclusion that I now want to convert my VW t25 air cooled but am astounded by how difficult it now seems to get hold of DIY kits and parts. Anyone else finding difficulties? Andy

borlocks by Austin Shackles
since someone described a technique for purging new tanks, I thought I'd have a go at it for the new one I'm in the process of fitting. put it in the wheelbarrow ('s bleedin' 'eavy) and wheeled it over to the gas tank, connected it up and put a couple of litres in it, enough that it equalised the pressures. and the bloody outlet valve leaks, around where the valve screws into the body. So...

Engine dies / cuts out when hot by John S
My Land Rover, when running on LPG, has an occasional and unpredictabe tendancy to stop working. It dies a slow death, as if running out of fuel. I flick to petrol, go for a few miles more, then flick back and get another 6-7 miles on gas. It seems I can continue this indefinitely (until i really do run out). - I think it happens only on hot days and at high speeds (OK - it's a Land Rover, but...

V12 XJS Conversion by Steve Shuttleworth
My Jag now smells like a cooker, so it must be working! With the help and support of many of you a few weeks ago, I took the plunge and ordered a kit for my XJS. When it arrived, it wasn't actually all that clever and would have put quite a dent in the performance (the car was breathed on by TWR a few years ago and puts out close to 350 bhp), so I made a few components myself (massive mixers,...

99' Grand Cherokee by Russell Grocott
Hi I've been running a 99 Grand Cherokee (New shape, 4.0L, 45K) for almost a year now. The dealer warrenty is about to expire and I'm now keen to take a serious look at an LPG conversion. I've had a look through this group and have come across various issues, recomendations and a few concerns. Many of these posts date back several years. Firstly, can anyone offer thier current opinion or...

I am competent at serving a petrol engine myself and was wondering what I should service and how on an LPG system and if there are any aspects that are used by both petrol and LPG on dual fuel that will need to be different becasue of the LPG? Thanks for you help.

Fueling problem by Yeti
When I go to fill up at a pump on LPG I put in around 22 litres of fuel after I have run out. However, I believe that i have a 42 litre tank, so I am only able to fill it halfway. Any ideas as to what the probelm could be? Thanks once again for all your help.

How does it all work?? by Yeti
Sorry to keep bombarding the newsgroup with questions, but as i'm new, I'm on a steep learning curve at the mo, and this newsgroup is really helpful. Thank you. Now to the question..... How does the system work? Can anyone provide a detailed account of how the various parts opperate from fueling to exhaust? Or, alternatively, does anyone know of a book or website that would provide similar...

Switched to Petrol for No Reason by Philip
Hi Today my Astra LPG (Vauxhall converted) switched itself from LPG to Petrol. The first I realised was that the fuel gage had dropped down, this was due to reading out the petrol level which was much lower making me wonder what was going on and where my tank of gas had gone! Looking at the Petrol/LPG switch showed it still switched to LPG of course but the light was flashing indicating it was...

Welding by Austin Shackles
so... can I weld legs onto a gas tank? The latest ones have legs welded on to allow easy fitting. is it possible to weld to a tank which had gas in it? If it's a sealed tank, part full, then it should be over-rich and non-explosive.
