Freelander tank options by
Mike Parkins
I just tried an online quote with greenfuel.org.uk and it came up with
the torroidal spare wheel tank option. Since the wheel is on the back
door I think this option is unlikely, but I'd like to be proved wrong!
What options are there for a freelander? I would hate to lose the
ability to fold down the rear seats for a long load if the tank was
fitted between the wheel arches but I don't know...

Need for LPG regulatory reform - Refillable cylinders. by
Polly Thumper
Although this relates more to the refilling of cylinders used in
campers and caravans and for camping it is appropriate for a forum on
LPG fueled vehicles too.
UK consumers of LP gas may be interested to know the LPG cylinder
filling procedures used widely throughout the world including in Asia
and Australia, where exchangeable cylinders are rare and most people
have their own cylinders, and...

LPG stations by
no@spam.invalid
In 2 weeks time I take the car on the ferry from Dover to Calais and from
there onwards to the Netherlands. Now I can fill up in the Neth no problem
(same adapter). Where is the best place in (just before) Dover to fill up on
LPG? Hopefully not to far from the motorway/road to the seafrance terminals.
Thanks,
Lew

Spare wheel by
David Taylor
I was amused this morning by a chap who had a converted Astra estate
driving down the motorway with his spare wheel on his roof rack, looked
a pretty permanent fixture.
Isn't that supposed to be 10% extra fuel consumption due to wind
resistance?!
David.

Poliauto vaporisers by
QrizB
A bit of a begging letter here.
Does anyone have any installation info for a Poliauto CPD5 vaporiser?
I've got one, brand new, that I picked up without any instructions and
I'm wondering how its adjusted.
The official website is www.poliauto.net but it's less than helpful
and they don't reply to emails. The vaporiser in question looks
similar to their C14EM / C15EM but has a secondary (idle?)...

Converting to LPG by
RAdek
Hi all
I have a few questions about convering a Ford Focus 1.6 to LPG in UK.
The car is from 2003 year, and it is not Bi-Fuel one.
Does UK dealers make it possible to convert.
Do you lose a warranty (converting by dealer and not-dealer)?
What is the cost of the operation?
Does anyone have experience with FF 1.6?

'93 car on LPG - MOT with no cat? by
Paul Morgan
As per subject, would a 1993 registered car be likely to pass the MOT
emissions test if the cat was removed (or not working properly)? I know
there may be a legal requirement for the cat to be physically installed
but was wondering if it would still pass if the exhaust probe test.
Just in case the thing is starting to disintegrate or otherwise fail,
it's getting to that age where these kind...

Using the Cold... by
The Admiral
Hi all. Been a while..
Some may remember Austin's 'Using the cold' posting last year where
during the hot spell some were discussing the using the cooling effect
of converting liquid to gas to 'power' some improvised cabin-cooling.
Well, with our current toasty-spell, I was wondering if anyone had
actually managed to do anything with it? I've just managed to source a
12V electric cooling (water)...

Insurance Increase Shocker by
mrjolly
I have a Disco insured for approx £450 fully comp.
I am in the process of getting it converted to LPG (LPGA cert), so I
informed the insurance peeps of the mod.
After about a week of waiting, they finally got back to me, informing me
that the premium would increase by £138.
This is an increase of 1/3 !!!

New air filter to make room for vaporiser. by
George Gosbee
Having thought long and hard on how to make room for the vaporiser under the
bonnet (Cit XM V6), the only way I can see is to remove the air filter box
and fit a cone filter direct to the mixer.
Removing the original filter box will give plenty of space. But the original
air hose has, a temperature sensor, a butterfly bypass system and a
crankcase breather pipe. The Mixer (2 inlets 1 to the...

New to conversion - 1999 Renault Clio 1.6 by
Ian
Hi there,
I noticed recently an Autogas station in Cornwall which I regularly visit
and was surprised it was only around 37p / litre. I'm environmentally
minded, as well as financially minded, and wondered whether it would be
possible/practical to convert a Renault Clio 1.6 16v to LPG. I had a bit of
a dig around on the net with Google but couldn't find answers I was looking
for - wondering if...

LPG level gauge not working............. plus by
Al Clarke
Hello group I have recently brought a Year 2000 3.9 Discovery and the level
gauge don't work I have spoken to a few people and apparently most don't? My
vehicle system is 2x 40L tanks Stako and a stargas valve installed
20/08/2001.
The vehicle runs very nice ( maybe a bit lumpy for the first few miles but
then ok ) was told an lpg service maybe required.
apparently there is a better conversion...
