Lucas HT Leads by Dave Griffs
I've seen Lucas HT leads for my ford escort zetec engine, going cheap on ebay, & as mine are 8 years old (original mototcraft still fitted) I thought it would be time to change them. Are they any good? How do they compare to bosch? (I'm confident with these as they cured the backfire problem on my last LPG escort). Thanks Dave

Rover V8 on LPG - why does it stall when pulling up?? by V8Defender
I have a 1991 V8 Defender running SU carbs with a basic DIY fit open loop LPG system. I do not know what make the vaporizer is but it only appears to have the one mixer adjustment screw fitted. The flow is adjusted using a plastic screw tap Y-piece leading to the carbs and the mixers are Chris Perfect ones fitted inside the elbows as near to the carbs as possible. The air filter is the standard...

Engine problems on LPG - Dealer nightmare by Mark Lane
I have a Disco II V8 with LPG conversion using Romano Direct injection system. During standard service noticed coolant loss and block test failed. The car is under warranty so they went and diagnosed a cylinder head gasket problem and fitted new gaskets and skimmed heads. On return the car continued to run poorly on LPG with a clear misfire and still some collant loss although less. I took the...

Daewoo Lanos - which LPG? by John
Could anyone please advise a newbie on which conversion kit is suitable for a 1998 Daewoo Lanos 1.4. I'm a bit confused with the different kinds of systems available. Is it a case of choosing whichever suits your budget or is it determined on your make of car? Now that we're almost at a pound a litre I think it's time I looked into this LPG. Thanks

Which plugs by David French
Hi everybody, I have a Land Rover 101 running a 3.5l SD1 engine on SU carbs. As it's gassed, I want to put a decent set of plugs in (probably NGK, as these seem to be highly respected). I heard recently that different plugs are recommended for gassed engines than would normally be the case for unleaded fuel - is this the case? If so, where would I find out the best plug for my needs?

Discovery 3.9 45000 miles - worth converting? by Dadio
I have a 1995 Discovery V8i with 45000 miles on the clock but in generally decent condition. With petrol now at a pound a litre I am very tempted to embark upon a diy lpg conversion. Am I deluding myself? Single point systems look reasonably easy to install and even though I only do around 8000 miles per year an lpg system looks as though it could pay for itself in 12-18 months which is...

$.0 Discovery II problems. by Badger
Hi all, here's a poser for you. Converted my 4.0 discoII using an OMVL Dream 21N. During the autocal phase of the setup, I wasn't happy with the injector pulsewidths I was seeing compared to the original petrol only values, the supplier's tech helpline said to trim the values using the "carb" menu, so I did, and the values were then pretty close. First time I drove it, it developed a vibration...

Texas Conversion by mike
I am in texas and would like to convert from gas to lpg (that is liquid propane) Anyone know of some texas locations that have DIY kits or experts/specialists. I'd like to try to get someone come to our Auto Club meeting and speak about the conversion, the trials/tribulations of doing-it-yourself, and the benefits and/or drawbacks.

FAQ for this newgroup by AndyC the WB
Folks The FAQ hasn't changed much recently, but I did notice that a BBC news article linked to the FAQ, so it's good publicity for the newsgroup as well as for the concept of LPG. Prompted by this, I've just updated the FAQ that gets posted here to include some information on sequential injection, which seems to be missing from the information.

twin sill tanks: some questions by Chris Glen-Smith
Hi I have a Landrover hybrid (shortend Rangie chassis with defender 90 body) 3.5L carb with LPG. The LPG tank is the rear behind the bulkhead taking a big chunk of the load/seat space so I would like to change to use underslung tanks. I'd like to put two sill tanks in and move the petrol tank to behind the axle. With two tanks do you have a single filler with a tee piece or do you

Bedini Adjustment Instructions Needed by Steve
Can anyone suggest where I might be able to get details of how to adjust my Bedini gas system, which hasn't got manual idle setting ? It was converted before I bought it, and has got no doumentation. It's running generally rich, extremely so at idle which probably causes off-throttle stalls. TIA - Steve

Citroen AX 1100 lpg problems by david.cawkwell@tesco.net
I'm still working on my LPG conversion and now have it all in place. This is a single point injection system open loop. The system is switching to LPG but the engine immediately dies. I've tried switching to lpg when on the move but I think the engine is not firing. Gas is being produced by the vapouriser but even flooring the throttle after the switch makes no difference.

CO reading ?? by George Gosbee
Hello all, Just put a Gunsons professional CO meter on my Citroen XM 3.0 V6 auto it gave some very low readings 0.5% tickover on gas 0.01 to minus 0.09 at 2000rpm and only +0.1 approx on petrol. The CO goes up to 8% when switching from gas to petrol and 5% when going back to gas but soon settles to the low levels again in both directions. I gives very poor mileage on gas 15 mpg at very...

Tuning open loop by Yvan
I have BMW 1.6 carburetter converted to LPG. Searching the archives for this group I found a post describing how to tune open loop system. Basically, what you need to do is to use gas analyzer and set it up so that CO is ~2% at idle, and 0.5-1% at ~3000rpm. So I went to a garage near me, and asked them if I can use their gas analyzer to check my setup. Readings on a gas analyzer are...
