What Amazon doesn't want you to know. by Margaret Shiels
Gentle uk.rec.cars.fuel.lpg reader, First, my apology for cross-posting to this NG. Be assured that this is a one-off. It will never happen again. My sole purpose is to draw your attention to what I believe are dubious practices by Amazon.co.uk. I also believe that at stake here is freedom of expression. Amazon have rejected my reader review of a novel by John McGahern. In

Fiat X 1/9 FS by John
Nice car indeed. Pic's available at request. I am advertising this car for a good friend, as such I know a good bit about this car. Mechanically the car is A1, Body is A1, drives A1. Long MOT and has 5 months Tax. Loads of spares to go with car. The car has always been garaged and IIRC has only had 2 owners from new! My friend is a perfectionist as well as a top mechanic, due to what he...

Berkshire, Surrey or local installers for a Grand Cherokee? by simon.hanmer@gmail.com
Hi all, can anyone recommend an installer close to Bracknell - so I'm guessing Berks, Surrey or South Oxfordshire, who could do a good job on installing to a Grand Cherokee Ltd, preferably underslung tanks? Any suggestions on what I should be looking for - I guess make sure they're LPGA but other than that what should I be asking? Thanks, SImon

Changes on www.vauxhall.co.uk - no information about the LPG-models by Rolf Schmitz
Hello, within the last week I am actualizing our website about the availabilty of LPG-vehicles (factory-fitted) in Europe. When I am looking at the site of Vauxhall I am surprised. There is no more information about the LPG-vehicles ("Dual-Fuel range"). The links http://vauxhall.co.uk/dualfuel/index.jhtml http://vauxhall.co.uk/dualfuel/vanRange.jhtml don't work.

£100 to change 2 filters on Vectra factory fitted LPG? by georgemichael1@yahoo.com
Vauxhall and 2 other independant LPG specialist have said they will change the 2 GAS filters no one quoting less than £90. Vauxhall quote £10 for the parts, The filters are the 3 into 1 Fuel filter, and a brass filter. All it requires as far as I can see is pulling the connectors off the old filter and replacing with the new filter? surely there isnt that much more to this job.

lpg filling by technical123@hotmail.com
Hello With a very small tank on a range rover 60 litres (vehicle purchased with lpg fitted) and filling to 80 per cent this equals 48 litres but every time I run out I only seem to be able to put 30 or so litres in. Is this normal and does it mean there is 18 litres always in the tank I cannot use. Thanks very much

Petrol Preferences by Mark & Tracey
Hi I've been using LPG on my 2.5 vectra for a few months now and I was wondering was type of petrol other people use. Prior to having my car converted I would have used the cheapest supermarket 95RON unleaded all the time, but I've heard that there are very few additives in it and as my car now runs on petrol for a very short time I want it to work as hard as possible. Is there a particular...

LPG and Cat by lo.dup@free.fr
Hello, could someone explain how a catalyser can be damaged by LPG ? I'm thinking about converting my car to LPG but I noticed that the few collegues running LPG had to replace the catalyser at a time or another, which is quite rare normaly. Bad tuning or what ?

Another Vectra story by Rick
I have had a few LPG probs with my 02 1.8 Vectra C and it has been back to Vauxhall several times under warranty, But this time I have a prob when setting of from junctions ( hot or cold ) the powers just fails, which can be a BIT scary when your trying to make that gap!! So i dropped it of to them today, after several hours they scratched their heads and say they think its the "stop valve"...
