Average cost of a service by
Tom Robinson
What kind of prices are you paying to have your LPG system serviced in
your area? By service I mean changing any filters that need doing,
making any adjustments / tune ups to the system, etc. Routine stuff.

Inefficient Heather by
J Jackson
Dear All,
RRC Dec' 1992
3.9 Vogue Catalyst with single point Emmegas LPG system.
Have been aware that the heater has been inefficient on the car since I got
it, a couple of years ago. Had a word with my usual RR mechanic (Gemm 4x4,
Larbert Scotland) and he suggested that the problem is that the cooling
system is used to drive the LPG pump and therefore loses heat by being
diverted on it's...

Authorized dealer refuses to service my car by
Yvan
I have BMW 316 recently converted to lpg. Few weeks ago I called
authorized BMW dealer to schedule a service, and during the conversation
I mentioned that I did lpg conversion. Then they refused to service my
car.
I wrote an email to BMW, complaining about that, but:
"It is the obligation of our local partners to satisfy the BMW
customers.

sequencial system
or buy a 1.9 diesel and convert it to run on veg oil with a kit from

02 Vectra factory fitted LPG light codes by
georgemichael1@yahoo.com
On a traffic light my LPG swich light comes on as solid light what does
this mean? As the car moves or accelarator is applied the light goes.
Also I had a problem recently where even though there was gas in the
tank when switching to gas the light would flsh for say upto 5 mins
(that long) then switching on GAs and stalled the car. Filling the car
up got rid of this problem.
Also I have seen...

faulty LPG pump? by
mvecd
I have a 52 zafira dual fuel that has a 50lt tank (46lt useable)
I filled up at my local Jet garage a month ago and it filled to 55lt
before I realised and took my hand off the button. It would have
carried on! Anyway, I mentioned this to the staff and there reply was
"the price of LPG has just gone up"
How, i asked, does this make my 50lt tank hold 55lt?
I was met with a blank stare.

LPG and Lambda sensor by
Six in a row
Hello, folks,
I have seen a table (mV output) where the data for a lambda sensor
were different when seeing lpg than seeing fuel.
Does anyone know if lambda = 1 is different in voltage for lpg than it
is for fuel where lambda is 500 mVolts.
:-) Michael

LPG LDV vans by
Austin Shackles
Anyone seen one?
From the specs, it seems as though they are using the twin cam 2-litre ford
engine, but confirmation would be nice. I'm toying with the idea of
swapping the engine in me minibus and going back to gas - using the
"correct" engine as per the manufacturer's equipment would make life easier
with the insurers, I daresay.
on a related subject, they appear to be using SGI, but I...

Buying Advice - Mile Muncher by
Tom Robinson
Already posted to ukrcm but they pointed out the existance of this
newsgroup so posting here as well!
Thinking of spending about 1500 quid on a car that is:
- Good on the motorway
- High economy
- Not too expensive to insure (I'm 23)
- Not too boring - something slightly unusual
- Reliable

idle speed adjustment on a new install by
Tom Woods
I fitted a new LPG kit onto my car about a week and a half ago.
I was told by the people who i bought it off and who checked it and
initially set it up that i'd probably have to adjust my idle up in a
week or so as the vaporiser 'bedded in' and the diaphram got used to
working.
I've done about 450 miles since (mostly on LPG) and I've actually had
to adjust my idle up about every 50 miles of...

Spare connection on vacuum switch? by
David French
I've just been punting around the engine trying to work out why my
vacuum operated diff lock sometimes comes on of its own accord.
Whilst looking around I noticed a vacuum pipe not connected to anything.
It isn't very long and can't have come very far.
The engine is a 3.5V8 with an IWEMA LPG system. Part of this system is
a small vacuum switch with two electrical connections, a brass...

The wiring loom had melted against the EGR valve - RPM sensor cable was
directly shorted to earth.
Is this something to get the installer to repair?
