LPG Passat - compression down on number 4 cyl by
stevet
Hi All
I've been having a problem with a mis-fire while running on gas for the last
couple of months. I have gradually changed all of the ignition components,
plugs, coil pack, leads etc. and still have the misfire. It seems to run
quite smoothly on petrol but misses on gas, more so at the lower revs under
load than at the higher revs.
So I decided to do a compression test today. (had to buy...

trouble... by
MVP
was driving merrily along yesterday when there was a pop/bang from the
air filter area followed by temporary loss of power.
It's happened several times since, though not while i've been switched
to petrol.
i pulled the air filter out and it's damaged/bent.
I suspect the lpg has been ignighting in the intake.
whats the problem? how do i sort it?

Romano ECU possible problem with RPM sensor cable by
Martin
Vauxhall V6 installation ran fine for first day and part of the second -
always OK from cold for first few miles
1) Connected to the rev counter wire - after a few miles it couldn't get a
stable signal and also the rev counter needle went nuts.
2) Moved to a coil feed - ran well for a while - when driving home from LPG
chap the car started running rough, tried the car later, LPG got no...

Pros/Cons: landi or prins? by
Angus Robins
Am going to get car converted in the next couple of days and have been told
by a green chap that the landi / landi renzo systems are unreliable and he
recommends a prins or brc system.
I would have to travel an additional three hours each way to meet the
greenfuel chaps people.
Can anyone tell me if why I should or shouldn't bother with the additional
journey? I'm thinking of service costs...

LPG Filler in bumper... by
Will Morrow
Hi All,
I have one of the plastice filler things that fits into the bumper, i
believe a universal design and i have cracked my bumper and may need to
replace it soon :o(
I was wondering if these fillers just unbolt and and unclip or if they are
some sort of push and or bonded in kinda of plastic?? If so and i just cut
the thing back out and rebond it to the new bumper would it be sufficient...

mixture messed up by
jeff_p
I have an 84 Merc with an OMVL open-loop set up.
After some unrelated problems the lpg system has been left unadjusted
such that there's an almost-instantaneous minor backfire if I switch to
gas.
What's the method for stting up the vapouriser from scratch?

DIY install by
Martin
I will be doing a DIY install of a Romano SGI system - taken from a similar
car.
Any tips or advice - or recommended web sites?
Cost prevents getting it done properly

LPG, Morrisons, Bristol... by
MVP
'twas mentioned here a little while ago that a couple of folk
regularly use morrisons in bristol for LPG, the one just off the M5.
I called there on my way north on thursday and again on my way back
yesterday, the forecourt was really busy and when i drove in could i
buggery find the LPG pump, hence my question... where is it?
If i know where it is i can join the appropriate que... it's...

what causes backfiring? by
Tom Woods
My car has started backfiring a lot today and i was wondering if
anybody could suggest what the cause might be.
It is a carbed engine and has a simple open loop gas system on. I run
it on gas only.
When it has been backfiring it blows the flexy pipe off at the air box
and sometimes pops a vacuum line out of the inlet manifold (where the
brake servo is fed from).
Whenever it pops the vacuum line...

Filling experience by
Ian Hatten
Another question.
The second last time I filled up I noticed something and was wondering if it
was normal. Outside temp was -1c and as I was filling there was a faint
flow of vapour coming from around the
gas nozzle. When the tank was filled I went to disconnect the hose and the
nozzle was covered in frost and also my jacket sleeve was sprayed with what
I assume to be was liquid gas. I...

Misfire under load by
Peter
What could possibly cause misfire in one cylinder only when running under
load, rpm range 2-3K? It's V6 engine with separate coil pack for each cyl,
and plugs have been changed couple of months ago. It idles smoothly so I'd
tend to exclude any vacuum leaks. Misfires only when running on LPG (single
point closed loop), petrol runs just fine. When it misfires Check Engine
flashes (and computer...
