Default Vaux Corsa LPG emmissions rating by DVLA

Hi everyone,

My first post into this group, is this the only UK LPG usenet group or
are there some others I should know about?

Anyhoo,

I am the proud new owner of a factory fitted Corsa 1.2 16V life 2003
'53 (Dec 2003), so far i am fairly happy with it. But I am confused
about the emmissions, my V5 (registration document) has it listed as
an "Alternative fuel car" but the emmissions is listed on the V5 as
146 g/km which if you check is the rating for the petrol engine
version.

The LPG version is listed on the used car buying guides as being 138 -
139 g/km and the "LPG supplement" guide booklet which is in the
vehicle documents wallet lists the car as being 138 g/km.

Does anyone know if the DVLA should be recording the g/km as 138 for
my car or do they list it as the petrol running value because that is
obviously the maximum it could be if I was running on petrol?

With the new Vehicle bands this would make the difference between band
E and band F

My other enquiry is to do with mpg, The car is listed as being
capable on
petrol of 54 mpg
LPG 41.5 mpg

When I drove home on the motorway on LPG @ 56mph I only got about 33
mpg on LPG (176miles 23.75 litres LPG)

Subsequently driving on mostly 'A' roads to the supermarket (6 miles
round trip) and to my parents house (30 miles round trip), Not city
driving and not motorway driving I did approximately 300 miles on 37.4
litres LPG which is about 36 mpg

I then drove economically on petrol and returned 44 mpg

Questions

Why is the petrol mpg not close to 54 mpg?
Why was my motorway LPG slightly less economical than my local 'A'
roads on LPG?
Does anyone here have a corsa which returns what it should return on
LPG or petrol?
