I wonder if members of this group can help. I know it relates to one
store but in the long run it could affect all LPG vehicles as
Sainsbury's ideas on LPG sales are corporate driven and not green
driven............................................ .......

On numerous occasions I have contacted Sainsbury's on the matter of
selling Auto gas but on every occasion have been told that they would
not be fitting LPG pumps in there service stations because there is
not the demand. My local Sainsbury's is St Clares in Hampton where
there service station and shop is having a huge refit.
I have Contacted Sainsbury's head office to be told as I said before.
"There is no demand for LPG....." Funnily enough the Shell petrol
station on The A316 not 1 mile away is always full of cars cueing
sometimes onto the A316 itself.

Is this Sainsbury's not caring about its Green credentials!!!!!

Tesco's are contemplating fitting LPG pumps. So why not Sainsbury's??

Please help if you can as all Supermarkets' should sell LPG as then we
can then use the free vouchers that they are so willing to give to
Petrol and Diesel powered cars...

Many thanks Eddie

It might be an idea if you drafted us out a letter that we can simply append
our names to.

Easier & quicker doing it online.
Here is the response I received, handy considering I live in Perthshire,
Scotland. Looks like the Customer Manager used a reply without any
research, they have "only several" places that sell LPG.
Apologies in advance if this is the wrong format but this is a direct copy
and paste of the reply.

"Dear Ian

Do you have any plans to extend the availability of LPG at your stations? I
have recently purchased an LPG car, to do my bit for the environment, and it
would be great if I was able to refuel at the same time as I do my weekly
shopping.

I'm not sure what you've been told or found yourself, but Sainsbury's DO
sell LPG; my local Sainsbury's at Biggleswade sell LPG (at 46.9p/l which is
close to being the cheapest in my area).
