Default Drove off with nozzile in.

Hi,

I did something very stupid today - I drove off with the LPG filling
nozzile still attached to my car.

Looks like the nozzle was damaged and so was the pump as it would not
work anymore.

Just wondering - will the cost have to be paid by my insurance company
or are the forecourt insured for this kind of thing?

Also does anyone know a good/cheap bodyshop near Leicester as the rear
wing of my car is now slightly bent.

Yes there was a special joint, but it didn't break off.... does this
mean that they are liable?

On or around 2 May 2006 15:25:40 -0700,
enlightened us thusly:

not likely as Stewart says. However, if there'd been a major gas leak as a
result of a safety device on the line (the self-sealing breakable joint
thing) not functioning, then you might not be liable for that - I suspect
they're required to be installed and that making it so that it doesn't break
when it should is naughty.

You broke it therefore your fault and they will claim off your
insurance company.

Perhaps you might have a case in the cashier allowed you to pay for the
goods without the hose been disconnected. I know petrol pumps won't
allow the payment until the nosel has been replaced and therefore the
pump cuts off.

Thanks for the replies everyone,

They haven't got in touch yet so I hope I'm all clear.

Cars got a big dent in though and I'm pretty ****ed off at myself for
that.
