Default trouble...

was driving merrily along yesterday when there was a pop/bang from the
air filter area followed by temporary loss of power.
It's happened several times since, though not while i've been switched
to petrol.
i pulled the air filter out and it's damaged/bent.

I suspect the lpg has been ignighting in the intake.

whats the problem? how do i sort it?

tank is full by the way.

When mine went through a backfiring episode recently it was due to a
dodgy spark plug. Its also been caused by a leak in the inlet manifold
(in my case a knackered gromit)

A misfire can cause a backfire. Check all the leads and the spark
plugs first.
