Default Duty on LPG

what's really wrong is the mount of such money that's wasted. We have a
fairly high tax burden overall in this country, though not, I think, as

high
as some. But the level of services etc. we receive falls short.

Agreed. Our council has just demolished a decent pub and will pull down an
office block next week just to build some new monstrosity that they can pull
down in 10 years' time. They are happy to spend money like this yet our
schools come bottom of the league tables (however you work them out). Come
to think of it, they are happy to spend money on the schools too. What is
lacking I guess is a bit of thought before they spend.

Default Duty on LPG

I'm with you on this. I've been thinking about gassing the Range Rover for
while now, but this news just puts it off the agenda. Given the fact that
fuel economy is worse on lpg, it will only need the price of lpg to rise to
about 60p/litre for gas to become more expensive per mile than unleaded.
Round here (West Wales) it's already over 40p. If GB raises the duty so
that the price increases by (say) 10p a year, not only may you never recover
the conversion cost but you will be lumbered with a gas system you will not
use. The only benefit will be the increased range of the vehicle.

Unfortunately for us who already have LPG conversions, that is a
sensible argument and one which a lot of people will be using. It isn't
going to help make LPG any more available for the masses as it's going
to discourage filling stations from putting LPG pumps in. Thankfully the
number has got up to a reasonable level in many bits of the country
already, and I'm also thankful that my conversion is well and truly paid
for. Let's just hope any increase is limited to a couple of pence at a
time over the next few years and not just an immediate big hike.

Paul, I admire your optimism, but I'm afraid I don't share it. ;-)

Default Duty on LPG poor idle

It should not be on Gas till it is warmed up, Mine (BMW) did (poor idle)
till I upped the temp setting to the sensor for the vaporiser. It forgets
even now and again and I reset it.

I just came back from Albania at over 3000 miles in just over a week, what a
nice feeling to drive on cheap gas, How long will it last here. the
Albanian's are very much into it.

"
I've been having idling problems with the car when the engines cold
its more stable on petrol so I warm up on petrol.
