At that price, I reckon everywhere in the world is lower.... or should it be 30.9? I could resell it from my local garage and make a tidy profit at that rate... currently, local garage is 38.9, bulk in loads of ~1000l is about 32, here. -- Austin Shackles. www.ddol-las.fsnet.co.uk my opinions are just that "Remember that to change your mind and follow him who sets you right is to be none the less free than you were before." Remains at 26p yes 26p a litre at Lister Gas in Holloway bank, Wednesbury West Mids. You have to pay a £100 deposit for a fuel card to get 24/7 access to the pump but you can get it back whenever you hand in your fuel card. You pay by DD once a fortnight. I've never seen anything anywhere near as cheap. RJO (happy on gas), |

Wonder what sort of price I could get for full-artic-sized loads to this area? Mind, I bet there are all manner of regulations to be conformed with... -- Austin Shackles. www.ddol-las.fsnet.co.uk my opinions are just that "Remember that to change your mind and follow him who sets you right is to be none the less free than you were before." I don't know about the mainland but there seems to be some sort of price control (fixing) working in Ulster. I presume Calor are behind it. Every garage charges the same. I don't know about the mainland but there seems to be some sort of price control (fixing) working in Ulster. I presume Calor are behind it. Every garage charges the same. A letter to the DTI might be in order. -- Hog (remove bondage to email) IMO, there's a lot of price fixing going on in Scotland, especially the further North you travel! It all seems to be being controlled by Gleaner Oils, suppliers to shell stations. We currently pay 39.9/ltr or 38.9/ltr if there is another outlet fairly close! Gas went up in line with petrol earlier this year as the recent "sandstorm" brewed up, but when petrol and disiesel came down afterwards, gas didn't!!! I've tried to talk to Gleaner about this pricing policy, but they refuse to enter into any discussions with me. When they opened the first of their gas pumps at Skiach services, Evanton, one of their then employees stated publically that it was their long-term intention to keep lpg at, or below, half the price of unleaded. When I queried them about this statement earlier this year, I was told that the statement was in fact, to keep lpg at least 30p/ltr below unleaded and that as such I had nothing to whinge about! Seeing as they now have the contract to supply lpg to all of Elgin's cop cars, I somehow doubt if they care at all about joe public. I tried for 4 months to get them to give me a quote for a tank at home and finally gave up after meeting their gas rep at the Black-Isle showground. To say he knows little about his subject is an understatement! Made promises to get in contact, guess what? he didn't! My small, local filling station has been trying to get lpg in now for over a year, but new brick walls seem to be appearing as soon as they sort out each problem. Rumour has it that certain top-level players within Gleaner have an (illegal?) input into the council!! I can understand them being scared, though, what with their track record for customer satisfaction! End of rant, Badger. Phew, I feel better now. |
