Hi all,

I got two questions about driving on LPG in the UK

1. What ferries from Calais/Oostende accept LPG cars on ferries to the UK?

2. What's the LPG price in the UK?

regards,

Johann Schmidt

From previous posts here I remember that you're supposed to have
conversion certificate with you, otherwise the bad ferry guys might
not let you in. In reality, I went to France and back exactly like
Austin did - keeping quiet.

I suspect nowadays the price of LPG in the UK works out at about the
same as in France due to high euro.

Am I right in thinking the Tunnel bans LPG vehicles?

Yes, you are.
Ferry operators should ask to see a conversion certificate and should
check the serial number of the tanks on the vehicle against those on the
certificate.

What a load of cr4p!! Why dont they check your petrol tank for leaks and
serial numbers, and check the brakes work properly in case you crash when
you drive in....oh and they could check if the wipers work correctly in case
the sea water causes a hazard........

Doesnt really sound like encouraging the use of LPG, does it?!
