Interesting, so the main problem seems to be tank size. Definitely the main worry! I've just converted my kit car to LPG only and I modified the boot area, after removing the petrol tank, to take a 120l LPG cylinder. I don't honestly think it's that much more of an issue than running out of petrol would have been in the early days if you watch your mileage. Some people, me included, have made up 'emergency kits' that will allow the tank to be filled from a small LPG cyilnder if you get stuck, but you MUST pay the duty on the LPG if you intend to use it as a road fuel and keep the evidence for the tax man. I don't think they'd be seriously concerned about anyone using a 3kg bottle as an emergency tank, but they have to consider people who might use the large cylinders as their main source, thus evading paying tax. (This is likely to get you a 1am wakeup call from the C&E.) Adam (Red ones go faster!) -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG |
