LPG problems by
Formula Power
Many LPG cars have problems, especially back firing. Although LPG is a gas, at the point of ignition, it is harder to burn than petrol. When you install LPG or if already fitted, you should be advised to uprate your ignition leads as in many cases, standard leads to not provide enough energy. Performance HT Leads, 10mm HT Leads from FormulaPower actually gaurantee you a minimum of a 10% saving,...

vauxhall vectra lpg problem by
marty9
I wondered if any of you could help?
Our car is a Vectra SRI, LPG factory fitted, W reg (2000).
We've had the car since October, and have struggled getting advice from
anywhere re the LPG side of things.
Our nearest Vauxhall dealer that actually deals with LPG is nearly 100
miles away, and to be frank were pretty useless. We have a good local
LPG garage, but they're working blind on the car,...

Why no lpg ford/vauxhall? by
Robert[_6_]
Hi,
Why is there no longer an LPG focus or an LPG astra? I was interested
in an LPG car for the savings on fuel cost but it seems they are no
longer manufactured. Why? When were the last models made?
Thanks.

LPG cost effectiveness in 2010? by
Fred[_7_]
Hi,
I was driving down the road today and passed a petrol station. The
sign said that petrol was 117.9ppl, diesel was 117.9ppl, but lpg was
65.9ppl; so that's almost half the price of the other two fuels.
I remember looking for a new car six or seven years ago. I saw a Ford
Focus that had an LPG tank in the well where the spare tyre normally
goes. I don't know where they put the spare tyre...

Does LPG wear out the engine more than petrol? by
Moray Cuthill
"A Rodgers" arodgers wrote in message
...
Does LPG wear out an engine more than using petrol? Should I expect a
shorter life from a car that has been run on LPG or at least more
repairs needed?
Is it more risky buying a 2nd hand car with over 100k on clock that
has been converted to run on LPG than a standard petrol one?Could be
why...

Gunson's Gastester - Any good? Any good for LPG? by
mogme100@googlemail.com
Hello, been a while since I looked in on this group.
For those of you who remember - or care - I am still driving my '87
Volvo 740, which I converted to a basic open loop system 9 years ago.
MoT was last week, which it passed, but the emissions - on LPG - were
a bit marginal to say the least. Pass is =3.500% CO, and mine scored
3.507%. Technically this is a fail, but they're a decent lot where...

Ford Focus LPG, pump knackered by
stevet
Hi
The LPG pump in the tank of my wifes 51 plate focus started making lots of
noise last week, now it seems to have stopped working completely. The engine
stalls as soon as it switches to gas and the pump is making very strange
groaning noises.
It's a factory fit Ford system with an ICOM doghnut tank in the boot. The
trouble is that the LPG pump is inside the tank. I'm told that the Ford...

Tyre sealant stuff - which one? by
John[_15_]
I've just had my car converted to dual fuel and now have a 67-litre LPG tank
in the spare wheel well instead of a spare wheel, so can anyone recommend a
good tyre sealant?
Each of the tyres is in really good condition with between 6 and 7mm tread
depth and the rims are alloys - just in case that makes any difference.
Cheers,
John

$100 Gas Voucher by
t7dgbnak
I just discovered this new site that's giving away a $100 gas voucher,
for free!
Can you believe the price of gas these days?
In my area it's currently over $4.75 per gallon, and all signs point
to it going even higher, very soon. I remember the days when gas used
to cost $0.99 per gallon, but those days are long gone.
