Classic Estate Car - suggestions by The Puffer Nutter
I currently have two classics on the road (1959 MO series V Farina and a 1969 Series 1 Rover 3500). I have a 1964 Rover P4 under restoration. For day to day use my wife has a 1993 Series 2 Discovery (also good for towing a car trailer!) and I have a 1993 Peugeot 405 estate. I use the Pug estate to move my 7.25" trains around (in the estate part and also towing a trailer). I also use it...

coil spring replacement thanks: by simon
Thanks all for the advice - bought a compressor that fits inside the coil, dropped the ball-joint end of the lower control arm rather than the chassis end, and have now replaced one of the coils! should get the other one done tomorrow... have to move the car around in the garage to get to the other side easily. Not too hard a job really, once you have the right tools & some good advice. thanks...

Which Paint? by Martin
Hi All, I've posted this question on the kit cars newsgroup, unfortunately it seems to have succumb to the dreaded troll/spam monkeys. I've a kit car with a very exposed tubular chassis (i.e. no body at all!) and I want give it a lick of paint. I want to give it a quick paint job to tidy it up a little bit. I plan to attack it with a bit of sand paper to get the worst off and hand

Lookalike Cars.... by Jon Tilson
Funny how cars from completely different manufacturers often bear a striking resemblance to one another. Just seen a pic of a Michelloti update on a Dolomite that looks remarkably like a FIAT 132. What other cadidates can we all come up with? Pug 404 and BMC Farina... Alfa 164 and Pug 605 etc...

Rover P4 (110) restoration - how far do I go? by puffernutter
How far do you go? No, this isn't an invitation to one of those web sites, but an enquiry from a recent P4 owner just wondering how far he should strip (OK, maybe it is one of those websites!!) To be serious. I have had MOL 111 sitting on my drive for just over a year. In the next couple of months I plan to erect a car port over the top of her (with shielded sides) so I can work out there in...

Capri rot problem. by Conor
(No laughing at the back) I've got a MK3 Capri 2.8i. On both inner wings, the wing rails are well crusty and the strut top plates have been repaired but to a crap standard. Both front wings need to be removed regardless as they're starting to go around the front. I've two solutions to the problem: 1) Inner wing full length top repair plate which goes 2" down the

Most undeserving / overrated classic? by The Blue Max
OK, which are they - what cars are revered by some as classics when in your opinion they're dogs? Which classics are sure to disappoint you if you actually got to drive one? Against the first above I'd nominate any car built by Reliant, but especially any Scimitar. With their plasticky trim, van-with-windows design, appalling turning circle, dreadful reliability, and grotty fibreglass bodywork...
