Chevrolet Volt Concept by john
The Chevy Volt concept, shown at the Detroit show, is a car designed to be a plug-in hybrid from the start. The Volt is based on a roughly Cobalt-size platform and is said to weigh 3200 pounds, while a 160-hp electric motor drives the front wheels. That motor is powered by a 400- pound, 16-killowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack (same kind of batteries used in laptop computers). GM says this...

Help to identify car by Zak[_2_]
Hi, I'm trying to date an early aerial photo of my house and the only clue is an anonymous car in the corner. It looks like some sort of 60s Ford but that is just an uninformed guess. I have posted the picture here... http://www.thehendre.com/public/whatcar.jpg and I'm hoping there is some knowledgeable vintage car buff out there who can tell me the car/model/date. I'm in my 60's too and...

Advice on Triumph Stag buying? by Michael Kilpatrick
I would very much appreciate from anybody in the know some advice on the variants of the Triumph Stag, which is something I'm considering buying for my wife as her first car (she has not owned her own car since she came to the UK some years ago). I think this would be a more interesting option than insuring her to drive my Rover SD1 Vitesses. I'm not really familiar with the Stags, what the...

Searching for a Solex Carb. (Bit O.T.) by Dave Carter.
I am searching for another 1920s/30s brass Solex 26MV updraught carburettor and was wondering if anyone on the group might know of one, possibly on a shed/garage shelf etc., or anywhere anywhere else to look. The corner I don't look in, is the corner that may have one!! Thanks in advance. Dave Carter. http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g212/Boulton-Paul/26mv2.jpg

Rover P6 rear brakes - special tool or not? by Willy Eckerslyke
'Morning all, Anyone know if it's really necessary to use the special tool mentioned in the (Haynes) manual for resetting the rear brakes on a Rover P6? I need to change the pads, a job I've not done before on this one.

Paint stripper for GRP by Ian
We've had a few discussions about this here in the past. I've just finished trying some Removall 220, as recommended in Practical Classics, and ... it's brilliant. I had to leave it for 24 hours to do its stuff, but by then the paint - although it looked unaffected - just lifted off, right back to the gel coat. Far, far easier than any other paint stripper I have ever tried - I wish I'd known...

Triumph Spitfire 1978 speedometer by paul_silverman@mail.com
My original Smith speedometer broke down last summer. I replaced the speedo cable, thinking it was the source of the problem, but it is not the case. Now here's my question: can those speedometers be opened and repaired, or is it wiser to say I should get a new one? Thanks. Paul
